I join the group because I always wanted to read this book with someone and discuss it. I have not read any other books from this author.
I've never read this author, and I haven't seen the movie based on this book either, so I'm going into it completely fresh. This was suggested to me when I wanted some recs for horror with creepy vibes, and I can't wait to check it out. :D
I saw the movie a long, long time ago, probably around the time it came out, and I know that I loved it, but not much else. I only vaguely remember the ending, but nothing of what led there, not even which actor played which character, so I'm very excited about reading the book and experiencing the story like this!So far I'm almost finished with what my kindle terms Part 2, although the formatting is pretty weird, with the different parts seemingly starting in the middle of a single scene or dialogue, so I'm not sure you will have the same divisions I have.
So without spoiling anything, the storm is about to set in, which I'm sure will strand the two marshals on the island with all the shady doctors and dangerous patients, and then the spookiness can really start :) I'm enjoying it a lot so far!

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!
Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.
Here are some questions to help get the conversation started! Feel free to look up discussion questions specific to this book or come up with your own. Just make sure any questions that contain spoilers are under spoiler tags.
Discussion questions are not required but may be a fun way to talk about the book and get to know each other!
