Do you think we should move the author promotions folder up a little higher or put some kind of message out there about proper placement of topics? Book promotions are being posted all over the place. (Sorry, the auditor in me just raised it's ugly head ... and it's hot ... and I'm annoyed ... ). If you guys are okay with it, I'll be okay with it and get rid of this.

Gail, let’s see how this helps! I just moved the author promotions folder way up on the page and rehoused a couple of topics that were strays in the group reads folder. The random comments on other threads could be deleted if they get too out of control but ignoring for now. 😀😀😀

ann- is there a way to flag it somehow to make it more readily apparent?

I agree, it is annoying. I wish GR would let moderators move individual posts to other threads. I've done that if they create a new topic but I can't do it if the post is in an existing topic. I've considered deleting the posts but the poster doesn't learn what they've done wrong, and I also don't want to penalize them if they were just clueless.

If we had a "shameless self promotion" topic many misdirected posts would fit there.

Carol: exactly - it was one of those days today and I wasn't in the mood so just deleted one that was out of place on a thread for a past group read. Hopefully we won't have too many more we can't just move to the author promotions folder.

Yes, Ann, I have done that as well, but as you say only when it was egregiously out of place. In other instances I want to delete the post and then write a post explaining that I did it and why, but it seems like too much work, lol.
