#booktok… Have you ever bought a book just because it was popular online? What was your experience? Was it worth it? If you are not online that much, what about having your friends putting pressure on you to buy it?

My Friends put pressure on me to buy The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende. They wanted to buddy read it before the series coming out on Prime. I bought it but, we never found time to read it.
The same happened with some book where one had to solve a puzzle to continue to a new chapter. Supposedly the author was going to give a prize to whoever solved it first. We never even started it. I cannot even remember the name of the book or where I put it.

I don’t get influenced by online stuff that much, even though I am often online…
