From Monday 21st September 2026 at 12.01 am (in your local time zone), you start keeping track of how many pages you read until Sunday 27th September 2026 at 11.59 pm. However, you can start the readathon at any time during these seven days, making it as flexible as you like.

In the September 2026 Read-a-thon thread, you will post your progress, telling everyone what you're reading and how many pages. Then all readers' totals will be tallied throughout the week to work towards the goal of 10,000 pages.

This is a relaxed read-a-thon; it doesn't matter if you read 20 pages or 100. It also doesn't matter if we reach our goal. It's simply about enjoying reading and taking part together.

Once the September 2026 Read-a-thon thread is posted and unlocked, make sure to put your name on the thread if you would like to be included. If you simply stumble across the thread, then please join in!

* An easy way to keep track is by using the Currently Reading feature on Goodreads, entering your page number at the end of each day.
** For those who read by eReader, take the page number shown for the paperback or hardcover edition on Goodreads for your total. Calculate by percentage to work out how many pages you've read.
*** For audiobook listeners, check how many pages the book has on Goodreads, then divide that number by the total running time to give you an estimate of how many pages you've read. You can also use AI chatbots, if you feel comfortable, to help calculate your estimated pages. Don't forget to post your totals, whether daily or your final total for the week, on the thread.
