A friend has uploaded her new book onto Amazon 4-5 days ago and it's yet to appear onto Goodreads. Is there a reason why it's taking so long?

Should she just add it manually at this point?

If her book is a kindle or an audible, they should only be imported by the bots now.
If her book is a 'dead tree' book & if she is a Goodreads author she can certainly add it herself. To make sure that she doesn't make an unnecessary duplicate please tell her to make sure she fills in the ISBN & ISBN13 fields & that she enters it to Gr standards - ie no ALLCAPS, no all lower case.

As a librarian yourself I'm sure you know that neither Gr management or Amazon confide in us volunteer librarians. I guess she could try contacting Amazon to see if there is a problem. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's currently Kindle only, so she had an ASIN number. I've had it take time before over the years, but never as long as this.

And don't forget that the auto import only works on Amazon US, not international Amazon sites because the rest of the world outside the US isn't relevant... 😉
