Let me know y'all's opinions on this topic.
At this point, I'm kind of in the middle ground, understanding both sides

i dont really think so because its kind of just like watching a movie but if i listened to a audiobook id count it as reading lol

I definitely think that audiobooks count as reading! 😊 I’ve seen some studies that your brain processes audiobooks in the same way as physically reading a book. Also, audiobooks sometimes require even more concentration than reading (at least for me)

honestly I don't listen to audiobooks that much but I still think they count as reading!

I personally think that they do! You’re gaining pretty much the same you would from reading the book tangibly and your brain is still processing the information.

I think it does ☺️. You experienced the book: its story, ideas, characters, language, structure and emotional impact. Just in a different format.

Yeah of course listening to audiobooks counts as reading! Like, what if you can’t see well enough to read then boom listen to an audiobook! 🎧

I think it absolutely does bc you're still consuming the story and can still say you've read the book, but also I actually fully believe it's ableist to say it doesn't count.

I think that it definitely does. I listen to audiobooks constantly and always count them as books jve read lol

I completely agree, for those who might not be able to literally read a book with their eyes, audio books are a great way for everyone to experience stories!

I do think audiobooks count as reading, unless if its the cruel prince *one* specific part...cough. but otherwise, i dont listen to auidobooks a lot but i think its just a different way of understanding books. :)
