Where will this month take you?

I am considering a few that I'd love feedback on. Also want to clarify whether fictional towns/locations count on these geographical journeys.

Chess Story: the ship is headed toward Buenos Aires
White Noise: set in fictional Ohio town of Blacksmith
The Dispossessed: set on fictional planet of Urras

I really enjoyed White Noise, Chess Story is also good and quite short.

Fictional towns definitely count, the rules (which you wrote so they must be right!) say you can even use fictional locations like Wonderland etc. I’m planning on using Coketown (Hard Times by Dickens) in October.

I am going to Belgium for August with Cheese. It promises to be tasty with any number of wines. Also, the randomizer has been punishing to my Random Challenge list this year with quite a few of the books being Very Very long, so I need some amuse bouche type reading refreshment.

Fictional definitely counts! I'm not remembering now which of you just read Animal Farm, but The Dispossessed has a similar political aspect, although not satire, its not exactly utopian but Le Guin is generally more hopeful. I just re-read it too this past year (trying to get some reviews down for things I could barely remember from my teens) and liked it less than I remember (I remember thinking it was amazing), where I liked Animal Farm more, but its still very interesting and thought provoking.

Gail, sounds like you could find some nice pairings for that :)

I think I am going to go to Botswana with Bessie Head. I have read some of her work (in college!) but not the one that is on the list.
