Thanks Angie....looking forward to taking this trip...will there be a set schedule for reading? Or discussion questions?
Read it 40 years ago and I remember thinking it wasn't one of King's best. Perhaps I'll read it again but there are so many other books to read first.
I actually started Black house yesterday as I read The talisman for the first time last month. Now that I’ve figured out how to comment on here….i’ll wait until you guys have finished reading the talisman ☺️
I tried it once a long time ago and didn’t really enjoy it, but this is the reason I need to go back to it(Similarly, I didn’t enjoy Sleeping Beauties when I first tried, but actually quite enjoyed it when I gave it a second go)

It is not uncommon at all.
It's more of "dark fairy-tale" kind of a story than supernatural/horror one. King's opus is so diverse that not every book can be to everyone's taste.
I finished my third reading of this one a little while back. One of my favorites since it was first published. I’m really looking forward book three.
I read The Black House years ago, but not The Talisman until more recently (though even that was apparently 2018!)
Started the re-read yesterday…. Gosh, the style feels quite different. I last read this in 2001 when I purchased the book. Grateful for this SK club, an opportunity to re-read all my SK books, including the forgotten ones.
Loved it just as much as I did the first two times I've read it. Absolutely loved Jack, Speedy and Wolf!
There aren’t any discussion questions or a set schedule. I’m so glad I’m re-reading this because I’ve really forgotten a lot of the book from 20+ years ago !
Hi everyone! Such a lucky coincidence! I ordered an original (used) copy from Ebay in July and got it from somewhere in the United States (I'm reading in Switzerland), not knowing this will be the August book! First time back visiting the Territories in about 20 odd years. I guess it was meant to be:-)
Thanks for sharing, everyone. Although I never read The Talisman and am starting a little late due to a death in my family, I am going to order it now. I will also order Black House and get the third when it releases. It appears that they will be worth the time and money. :)
One thing I can say for sure about this book is it is more on King's fantasy writing then horror. I love when King writes fantasy. Does anyone remember when the Guardian did a read of every one of King's books? Their review is great:

I'm excited to start Black House tomorrow and continue on the Tailsman journey.
