The idea is that you can either use the first letter of the title, the first letter of the series name OR the first letter of the first/last name of the author to claim one of the alphabet's letters.
The words 'The', 'A' and 'An' are also seen as a first word.
For example: if you've read Harvest Season (The Seasons of Carnage Trilogy #2) by Brynne Weaver, you can claim one of the following letters:
- H (Harvest Season)
- T (The Seasons of Carnage Trilogy)
- B (Brynne)
- W (Weaver)
