Robert Firlotte | 28 comments Another week passed, and another group of threatening emails from someone called Anonymous.
This person emailed me because of my presence on this platform. Warning me to not interact or post anything on this site. They wrote that they were part of a group of people who decide who can have a voice on this site.
Very interesting, huh?
Well, this Nasty Canadian has had enough of internet bullies who are targeting others on this platform.
I decided to put my ELBOWS UP and not take it anymore.
I wrote them back, challenging these basement-dwelling keyboard monkeys to meet with me in Ottawa to "discuss" their issues.
Imagine threatening a writer who spends his free time writing about new and inventive ways murders take place in his stories.
Legally, I need to say I would not break the law or cause any physical harm to anybody.
Has anyone else experienced this type of harassment from participating on this platform? And what have you done about it?

Gina LoBiondo (ginalob) | 120 comments Robert, I had dealings with these useless freaks for over 3 years. It started for me when I began a thread about...you guessed it, cyber bullies! It was unreal! Each message from them had more cursing and "colourful" language, including that my father was an asshole and my mother a biatch, etc. and they were going to publish an AI version of my book that Amazon can't detect their software, etc. Just a bunch of BS! Oh yeah, and they were going to send all the thugs and rapists they know to my house. Yeah, right. I think they got bored with me because I haven't heard from the losers in quite a while. Oi! 😳😜😵‍💫😱

D. Thrush | 15 comments I had to turn off my Ask the Author on GR due to vile and threatening messages. What do these people get out of this?

I also got a harassing phone call from a "police officer" who threatened to arrest me if I didn't turn myself into the police station for missing jury duty. False. What was the point? To get me away from my house? I hung up and called the police who were aware of these calls.

D., I had to turn mine off, too. Then they started writing me at my 3 emails, where I promptly blocked them.

They're so boring now and insignificant. Their emails read like static to my eyes.

Yeah that was a call to get you out of the house so they could rob you. Call the cops every time.

Robert Firlotte | 28 comments I'm not saying I'm famous. But I'm famous in my own head. This level of harassment of someone who has done more than they have, and showing their jealousy, is tired and boring. They won't respond to my replies. They're just scared little Incel's wanting to harass anyone who feels to them to be more important than they are. I don't get scared of threats. I respond and act on them. If @anonymous wants to send me threatening emails, then go ahead. But, they show their weakness by not replying to threats back and a chance to meet and "Chat" about their issues. If the real Anonymous group ever reads this, they may go after these Goodreads trolls. One could only hope.

Dennis Black | 365 comments First get triggered by a copy-and-paste collection of words.
Then take a firm stance against its algorithmic origin.
Challenge it to a confrontation beyond its realm of existence.
Dare it to show its binary-digital face.

By now it must surely be shaking in its bits.
