Hi all — new here, longtime dystopian reader. Been on a real kick lately with books that dig into genetic engineering and corporate control themes — stuff like Upgrade by Blake Crouch and Tchaikovsky's Dogs of War got me thinking about how differently authors handle "what happens when the created thing stops obeying its creator." Curious what this group's all-time favorites are for that specific trope — engineered/enhanced beings turning on the people who made them? Always looking for the next read that does something interesting with it. (Also an indie sci-fi author myself, working in this exact space — happy to share more if anyone's curious, just didn't want to lead with a pitch in my first post here!)
