Just wanted to drop a quick heads-up that someone's pretending to be the moderator of this group, reaching out to authors, and offering "collaboration opportunities" to try and scam them out of hundreds of dollars.

If you're checking this page out because you recieved a similar email, please do not send anyone any money.

If you're a group admin, I'd consider adding a "no one will ever reach out on this group's behalf asking for money from authors"

It's unfortunate that having a book for sale on Amazon opens people up to being targets by scammers. Usually I can see right through it; one used a picture of Kamala Harris in her email profile. But the one that came this morning seemed more legitimate. Thank you for the heads up!

I was contacted by "Jenna Bush Hager" at contact.jennabookclub@gmail.com
She wanted to make my debut novel Harmony's Bytes the featured title for an upcoming readers' circle. I played along with what she asked until she informed me:

"To finalize your participation and secure your place as a Featured Author in this month's program, a one-time Participation and Promotional Support Fee of $400 is required."

I am now convinced that this is a scam, but I might play the game just to see how or if "Jenna" responds. Should I? I would love your input!!! Thanks, Stephen
