Hey guys - what does the initials V, T, G stand for? lol I am sitting here trying to figure it out and I give up. lol

Also I will probably be joining you all when you get to the books of IT and The Mist. I have read IT but it has been many moons ago and I have never read The Mist. I own both books on kindle. So when you get to them I will jump on the bandwagon. :)

LOL!! It’s Vickie, Terry & Ginger. We were trying to figure out which books we’ve read in this Dark Tower journey and if it’s a complimentary or non-essential book, just to go to that person who has read it.
It’s like we did homework on this! 🫣😂🤣

Since I'm doing the audio version, I'm hoping it's the same as far as parts/chapters. I am at Part I, chapter 6. It looks like this is going to be a slow burn. And my goodness, (view spoiler)[ the abortion issue is running rampant in this one. King is being quite graphic/gross at times with it. (hide spoiler)]

I'm going to try and listen as much as I can over the next few days since I probably won't have much time this weekend with my son's wedding.😊

I'll have to click on this when I get a bit closer. I just wanted to agree with you that this is going to be a slow burn with what I've read so far. I'll be reading it a bit slower because of that. o.O hahaha

I’m definitely on the slow boat with this one too. Travelled the whole holiday weekend to play in the annual golf tournament out in Western Kansas and didn’t even get a chance to read. I’m just up to the start of ch 4 in part I. I’m enjoying the slow burn. Somehow SK makes a slow burn feel good still. I was surprised we already have run into our connection to The Dark Tower with mention of (view spoiler)[ the Crimson King (hide spoiler)]. Very curious where this book goes.

Yes, I noticed that too! It’s pretty gory in parts especially with (view spoiler)[The Friends of Life group and their response to the Woman’s Clinic.
I do remember it being a bit crazy back then with this issue too. (hide spoiler)] But yeah, I agree with you. It’s hard to read at times!

I’m finding it fascinating with the (view spoiler)[aura thing happening with Ralph. What a trip! 😂 (hide spoiler)]

Hey all. I just got to Part I, Chapter 8. Chapter 7 got me more excited about the book. I wasn’t expecting (view spoiler)[Ralph to almost get killed by Davenport. It was interesting that old Dorrance seems to have some psychic abilities. (hide spoiler)]

I’ve struggled a bit with the plot in the beginning but it’s getting better for me. When it was all about finding a sleeping cure and talking about sleep issues, I didn’t want to pick it up.
I’ve got some bullshit insomnia issues going and it felt a a little to close to comfort!
Maybe I should go find some honeycomb as well. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂🤣

Hey there! I am at Part II, chapter eleven. Yeah, I get what you're saying. It's not that I'm not enjoying it, but I am kind of bored with the whole story line so far. I'm hoping something big happens soon.

And yes, go for the honeycomb! 😆

I’m pretty much at the same spot you are Ginger, in ch8 of part 1. I agree with you both about being ready for something bigger to happen. I am enjoying it though. It really feels comfortable to be reading a SK book again, especially this time of year. I really can’t guess where this one is going at this point.

Finished up Ch 8 of Part I last night. It's definitely getting weirder, in a good way for me. Someone in the neighborhood needs to (view spoiler)[adopt Rosalie! I really liked the part in where the dog and Ralph could see the footprints of the strange doctors. (hide spoiler)]

Sorry, I haven’t made much progress the last week or a little longer. I have a project due a week from Wednesday and I’m spending way too much time working instead of reading. I’m just at ch10 of part 1 still.

I'm at part III, chapter 20 and I finally feel like there's something happening. Took long enough, lol.

I’m finally back to reading. I haven’t had much time in the last 2-3 days. I think I got the stomach flu and have been puking for days.
Finally keeping food down and thank goodness. 😅

Good to hear, Vickie! I'm at ch14 right now but still stuck working a bunch (even right at this moment!). I'm making slow progress and should be able to read more by the end of this upcoming week.

Thanks Terry! I’m not puking anymore from being sick but I almost puked today over the Seahawks losing. So it’s a draw for the week. 🫣😂🤣

I finished up Chapter 14 of Part II last night. I find all of the (view spoiler)[aura stuff interesting! Just how he can see the colors of death, rage, etc.
It would be super cool to have this power but also likely not a good thing for the sanity. 🫠😂
And then to be an energy vampire if he wanted too? I see Doctor Sleep came after this book, so it looks like this idea just didn't go away for him. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished. Not my favorite by King as I agree with a lot of reviewers about how much could have been trimmed in this. So much of nothing going on for a majority of the book. I'll probably go with 3 stars. I liked the connection to the Tower, though, so there's that, lol. After all, that is why we're reading it.😉😊

Excellent Vickie. I’m just getting to about the 2/3 point, ch18 in part 2. It is starting to get more exciting at this point.
