I was prescribed Soldiers of Fortune and Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet.

I read Soldiers of Fortune which is part of the Miss Fortune Mystery Series. This is the 6th book in the series and though it wasn't my favorite I will continue with this series. I did chuckle a few times which is what the doctor ordered.

I do still have a slight tickle in my throat, so will have to read Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet to feel 100%.

Finished my last prescribed book Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet and though this one wasn't my favorite it seems to be a good transition book and I will continue with the series. It has remarkably cured me of my ailments and I can go on to read another day.

I was prescribed Rivers of London, A Serial Killer's Guide to Marriage and White Nights

I read Rivers of London which is a cross between a police procedural and urban fantasy. This is my second attempt at reading this book and I’m so glad for my doctor Rusalka. I read it this time instead of listening to it and that made all the difference. Funny, weird and definitely a series I will continue.

My second prescription was A Serial Killer's Guide to Marriage which was just an ok read for me. I think it may have been a mood thing for me. The audio was good but it did seem a bit repetitive for me. Two serial killers try to reform and lean into a marriage and parenthood but can you ever truly reform?

My last prescription was White Nights and I am completely cured. This mystery takes place in northern Scotland where the in the summer the sun never truly sets. It messes with some of the characters sleep and moods. It was my favorite doctor’s note.

Anna was my book doctor. She prescribed A House with Good Bones, Fingersmith, and Tom's Midnight Garden. I read A House with Good Bones. What an awesome doc!

All throughout the book, the theme from Ghostbusters rang through my head: “Something strange in the neighborhood…” This book is about an “on leave” archeoentomologist who decides to stay with her mom while on leave. It is also the house her grandmother owned and lived in. And that’s where the fun begins.

I never really bonded with the main character. It was a slow burn and I was honestly surprised I didn’t like it more as I usually love T. Kingfisher. I give it ⭐️⭐️.

The Everlasting

The first book I finished was Bonbons and Broomsticks. It was a light fun read that didn't burn up a lot of brain cells. I'm enjoying this series about a woman who discovers she is a chocolate witch and can turn things into chocolate, usually by accident. This is the 5th book and it focuses on recent murders that people are attributing to a fabled black hound. Lots of mayhem ensues, including Uncle Victor, an old vampire who keeps losing his fangs,

This read was just what the doctor ordered.

Book 2, We Solve Murders, is completed. It was a global cat & mouse chase with lots of intrigue. I don't think this prescription was as strong as the first, but combined, they did the intended job.

I read The Palace of Illusions and it was really good! I love mythology that centers the women. I am not familiar with the source mythology for this one, so I don't really know what Paanchali was like in the original, but this story was just what the doctor ordered! Thanks to Dr. Pragya!

I chose to read Hemlock & Silver. I really enjoyed this one and it was just what I needed. I found it to be a creative reimagining of Snow White with little twists throughout.

I chose Mistress of the Art of Death to begin with (I would like to read all four of them - so many books so less time).
It absolutely hit the spot. I love historical crime and this one was fascinating as it took place in Cambridge in the 12th century.
I rated it 4 stars.
I hope to finish another of my prescriptions before the end of September…
