For everyone who's curious on how to solve Ash's question!!

1. First find the area of the entire rectangle (so assume its a regular rectangle), it's dimensions would be 27x11 correct? so find the area --> which would be 297m2
2. now find the area of the region that is white/not shaded. It's still a rectangle so it would be 17 x 5. Hence, the area is 85 m2
3. All you need to do is subtract the two areas!! 297 - 85 = 212 m2!!

Hence the area of the shaded region is 212 m2 yw!!
