People who Join this group can introduce themselves here if they wish.

I read mostly literary speculative fiction, nonfiction, weird fiction and classics, poetry, and occasional popular fiction. I look for subtext when reviewing. If a book lacks subtext, I may struggle to enjoy it. Many new releases these days have a low density of information. Hence I gravitate toward nonfiction much of the time. I write short stories and poems, which can be found on my website. See my GR profile for the link. I write novels too, but 90% of them are unpublished. I live in Denver.

These days I read mostly literary "experimental" (I guess) fiction. In my formative years it was exclusively SF.

Often I'm drawn to massive tomes (1000+ pages) although sometimes they can be a bit of a slog in the end.

I do venture into non-fiction from time to time.

I'm most definitely not a writer.

I’m a writer of science fiction and horror short stories and poetry. I have a Goodreads Author page you can visit for more details. I also post book reviews on GR (not as much anymore). I have a very special love for Mieville and have read all his works.

It is largely poetry and philosophy for me, but I have fond spot for lit crit, archaeology and economic history. I don't read as many novels or stories as I once pursued but I certainly like weird themes and or cosmic horror.
