I'm going somewhere really scary with Thomas Pynchon: California for The Crying of Lot 49.

I’m off to the fictional town of Coketown for my final Dickens novel Hard Times. Not scary but certainly gloomy!

Pamela, good luck to you. One of my favorite of Dickens but not a fun read.
I am going to read Johnson’s The History of Rasselas in which our characters travel from Abissina (modern day Ethiopia) to Egypt.

I’ll be off to England meeting up with William Thackeray and two women I must be introduced to. Hopefully the Vanity Fair isn’t dull.

well, one could do the Shining, since that is in Colorado, but I hate pure suspense actually so I don't know if I will ever read that ...

I am leaning towards The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum, in Colone, since Böll is one of my faves. Also looking at The Vice Consul (Calcutta). I requested both from the library so may just be a vibes thing when the time comes.
