I’m in! Any suggestions on the easiest way to find out if a book has won awards? Internet search? Since I read ebooks almost exclusively I often don’t see the jackets where “award winner” might be advertised.
A Light on the Hill by Connilyn Cossette
(10/24/26)ACFW Carol Award for Historical Romance - 2019
The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes
(10/30/26)Newberry Medal Nominee - 1945
You can do a search of each award's most recent winners on their website (the ACFW awards, the Christies, etc), or if there is a specific book you're wondering about, the GR page will often have any awards won listed in the book info.
Probably the easiest way to find an award winner would be to go to the section in our own CFD threads for award winners that Staci so carefully moderates for us each awards season.
HTH!

Thank you, Kate. I did skim through a few of Staci’s awards posts to see if any of the books I had planned were there. I knew I could find some good options there. I will go back and take a closer look once I have a little more time. I was mostly curious about specific books I’ll be reading for my other challenges and checking to see if any of them had possibly won any awards.
I think this is a fun new challenge.
I'm in. Will check the CFD threads for award winners. Of those already listed, Dark Design grabs my attention.

Love the interest in award books! Here's the link to the thread in our group:

Some books have award designations in their Goodreads descriptions but sadly it's more rare than common from what I've seen.
Happy award reading all!

I just finished reading this one to my 4th grade class. It's one of my favorites. It won the Newbery Award in 1945.
Nicely done Karen and Jackie!
@Karen, I enjoyed that novel too.
@Jackie, I've heard great things about Dark Design.

Yes, it was a great read.
I read this one to my class. It was published in the 1940s but it still feels very relevant! And the kids loved it. It won the Newberry Award in 1945.
