Edge of Eclipse is primarily told through the perspectives of twins Dherris and Dana. They both work as security officers aboard a fleet of spaceships, with Dana inside the flagship Atlantica and Dherris outside in his patrol vessel. During a routine mining operation, something goes horribly wrong, which sets in motion a chain of events that reverberates through the fleet.
Despite its modest word count — only around 51,000 words — I've put a lot into it to keep readers invested and entertained (I hope), showing a broader scope of life on the fleet through interludes between the chapters. Also, new warp technology and AI companions.
Key features: Competent protagonists - Fleet survival - Incorporated tech - Sibling banter - Real consequences - Emotional journey.
