A contemporary romance I’m curious about: Harmony’s Bytes by Stephen Abramowitz
I recently came across Harmony’s Bytes and thought I’d bring it to the group because of its female-centered story.
Harmony runs her own food review website in San Francisco, and her life becomes increasingly complicated as romance, friendship, secrets, and betrayal start colliding. I like the idea of a heroine whose personal and professional life are both part of the story rather than the romance existing on its own.
It also has a fun foodie backdrop with restaurants, cafés, and bars throughout San Francisco.
For those of you who enjoy romance with a memorable female lead, what do you usually look for in a heroine? Do you prefer characters who are independent from the beginning, or ones who grow into that confidence as the story unfolds?
