Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Here's a follow-up question to my previous one about ARCs. Is there any way we can override when an Author Profile says "Sorry, this author is . . . responsible for editing their own data." I know I can go in and correct an author's name spelling in the individual edition, but doesn't that still leave the incorrect profile in our database? This is a frustration I've come up with several times, but never knew what to do about it. I hate to have to send these requests on to a SuperLibrarian or Goodreads staff.

You just have to ask staff to correct the profile name.
Don't move books off a claimed profile, they don't like that.

Thanks Scott, Yeah I would never change a profile or remove their books. I was actually trying to add a book which the author's name had been spelled incorrectly. But I got that message that the author was responsible for their own profile. I was just hoping we could do it without bothering GR staff! I did change the actual book edition to the correct spelling, but now that incorrect spelling remains in the database with no books!

If the profile has no books it should just disappear.
