I've been on Goodreads for about 15 years and I don't ever recall using minutes. Like you, I have always use hours and, unless it's only a few minutes over, round up to the next hour.
I don't remember it being minutes either, at least during the previous 12 years, and I haven't ever seen minutes used in a book. I always round up when adding the page count in hours, as the librarian manual states.
I wish we could still message people. I hate flagging people. She hasn't been active since May, so perhaps she has taken a break. There are hundreds of books, so people will be finding them for years.

As long as I've been a librarian, the policy has been to round up to the next hour. Today, I came across a librarian who is using the minutes. One of the titles has 448. So, instead of taking 8 hours, it would take over 26,000. That is a whole lot of days to read the same book! The librarian in question isn't new. I thought perhaps that was an older way of keeping track. I rather agree with the way they are calculating read time. Prior to health issues, I used to average a page a minute. Now my Kindle mocks how long it takes me. :)
