I hate Roman, even though he is kind of funny.
He runs the whole game, kind of the whole series. I will totally freak if the three last books is also about how to get the antdote to the antidote from Roman.
Can't they just get it and get rid of him already, so that they can take on a new adventure, i mean, seriously!
But even though i hope they will get rid of him in the next book, I totally LOVED shadowland!

My gosh, I loved this book!! I love Ever so much! She is one of my favorite characters to read about. I know Damen is the hot italian boy, but MAN, I made Jude into the dreamiest, hottest surfer ever!!! I know Ever can't end up with him, but still I made him into a god! :p And I agree, I wish they would get rid of Roman already! He drives me insane! I Hate him. But I guess that is his job. Also, I want to slap Rayne! She really get's on my nerves! Show a little respect, aye! I can not wait till the next installment comes out! :) I swear I'll finish it the day I buy it. I love these characters. I love this world. I love this series. And I love Noel for creating it!! :)

Why should she not think about it?
Anyway, Kayla I totally agree with you for Rayne, roman and the series. Seriously why should a guy be like that? Ok, we understood that he loved Drina, but she's dead. Finding her killer and punish her would be expected to be the next move but he did the worst damage he could to Ever and Damen's relationship. He should quit already !!
Why so much vengeance??
I just finished this book finally. I found that it started out a bit slow and I was having trouble getting into it, but once I was about half vay through I started to and by the end I was really liking it. I can't wait to see what will happen next, but the next book isn't out till next summer :'(I actually kind of like Roman, like I don't really like what he is doinf and how he is basically torturing Ever, but I think that he makes an interesting character, and really adds to the whole story.
I also really like that new character Jude. I like how he is so laid back and cool with everything, and I like how he is with Ever. So now I'm super conflicted. Okay I still really want Ever and Damen to end up together cause I've always wanted them to be together, but lately Damen has been boring me. One the other habd I'm really starting to love the new guy Jude, he's kind of mysterious and super hot. Plus if he isn't with Ever I really don't see him with any one else. So I super confused :S
What are your guys' thoughts on the two of them?
I really liked Shadowland. And I looove Jude. The twist of them always showing up in each other's past lives was veryyy interesting. I think its the perfect twist in the Damen/Ever love story, because as Damen said, maybe they aren't meant to be together...XD
Ahh! I can't wait until Dark Flame! :D
I dont like Jude, well i like him but i love damen so much better. my bestfriend is head over heels for Jude though lol so now we say shes team jude & im teams Damen lol
Heather wrote: "Well I think that I would have to say that I'm team Jude then :P"
lol i was tlling my friend that we shoudl come up wid another word besides "Team" beczuase it sounds too twilightish
lol i was tlling my friend that we shoudl come up wid another word besides "Team" beczuase it sounds too twilightish
ya same here. its all ppl talk bout now
I know! And I love the book and all, but I read them way before they got all popular and it's really anyoing to hear about cause most people don't even really like it they just do cause everyone else does. And their all obsessed with the actor in the movies, which I hate they can't act at all, I only like Taylor and that's cause he's hot :P
lol! ya i know what you mean. also the boooks arent even like the movies that much. and robert & Kirsten r so anoying. i hope the same thing doesnt happen is Evermore is made into a movie
I hope they do turn it into a movie though cuz its a really good story and it deserves it
Ya I think I would like them too, it's not my favourite series but I like it and really want to know what is going to happen next.
ya same here. wats ur fav series?
Humm... well I'm not sure if I have A favourite series but some that I love are, the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, the Vampire Academy series, the Mortal Imsturments series, and the Gemma Doyle Trilogy. How about you?
i dont have a specific favorite either but probably the tripods trilogy, the luxe series, blue bloods, or the child called it series
oh i just finished it. i likd the 1st book the best. the van allen legacy is good but it takes a while 2 gets started
Ya I noticed, and it's been awhile since I read the others so I've forgoten somethings and it makes it even worse cause I get confused.
ya it probably is confusing since the book is confusing anyways lol
oh well the end is good that was my favortie part. Anyways i have to go i have tons of hw im a big procastinator lol. it was nice talking 2 u though
Shadowland was a really good book. Okay well the book wasn't that good but it was good at keeping you reading. I hate how the same plot is just stretched and stretched out. It gets kind of boring. Nothing good comes out of it and Ever and Damen kind of depress me what with their pessimistic point of view. The only exciting part is at the end even though we all know Ever is gonna be a frickin retard and choose to do the wrong thing, make the wrong choice, and screw everything up. Otherwise there's nothing left to write the books about. I still loved it for some odd reason, but I'm slowly losing interest.
Shadowland was soooo good. My gosh I love Alyson Noel for creating this series. I like Damen and Jude a lot, but I have to say that Roman makes the book so much funner! Im so mad at Ever for making Haven and immortal. Is she freaking stupid or somehting?! I mean come on, Haven wasnt even a good friend to begin with. And now shes an immortal. Wow. Im pretty sure they're going to kill her. In fact, Im 99.9% sure they are. She reminds me of Vicky from the Vampire Diaries. In the tv show she gets killed for being an idiot and trying to kill Elena and her brother. ughh Haven annoys me and I cant wait till they get rid of her. I also kind of hope that Roman ends up with Ever. I dont know why though.
I read the first two Vampire Diaries books and...yeah Haven does sound like Vicky
For those of you who feel Ever made the wrong choice haven't been in the position of losing someone that close. Think about it. She's lost everyone that has ever meant anything to her, moved to a new place and now has to cope with being an immortal and making all these adult choices when she hasn't really had a chance to grow up.
Ever's not close with Sabine, and doesn't feel she can be because Sabine is always trying to change her and never happy with what she does, so Ever can't even try to have that "family" connection.
As for Damen, he's been alive for a really long time, and because of our short life spans, it's hard to imagine how Damen feels, but his feelings didn't just come out of nowhere here - he is so aware of Ever that he felt the shift in her personality, the shift in their affection - and that's where the guilt stems from, his own insecurity.
That's how relationships are, period. The longer you're with someone, married or not, the easier it can be to feel insecure.
Take the way their relationship went so far. She's not even graduated from high school yet and now she's all of a sudden one of two guardians for twins - one of which doesn't like her - and that can be hard. While Damen is ready for these responsibilities, Ever isn't. Deep down, Ever just wants to be a normal teen with normal problems. She doesn't want to completely settle down, despite what she tells herself and Damen.
I honestly don't think fate is done with her and Jude. I think that there's still a connection between the two and I'm curious to see if that's the case or not.
As for Haven - I've been in Ever's position, I've lost a close friend before when I was younger than she is in Shadowland, and I can tell you, if I had a way to have saved, I would have, without thinking about the consequences.
Yes, it would have been a selfish decision, but one that would have been made out of love, and if Ever just let Haven die knowing she could have saved her - especially if Roman's doing what I think he's doing - lying about what the antidote is - she would have felt guilty and Haven would have died in vain.
If you think Haven was a "bad friend," then you have forgotten Roman's power. He can control and manipulate people and turn them against Ever - that's what book 2 was all about - but is bored with that part of the plan. Haven wasn't always under Roman's influence and has been Ever's closest friend other than Miles - and neither one of them was all that nice to her when they were under Roman's influence, but Ever understood that. She forgave them their actions because they couldn't control them, and to some extent, Ever knows that's what's going on now, but just doesn't know how to stop it.
You also have to look at the way Ever has shut Haven out of her life recently, and didn't tell her about the readings and stuff. Haven's feelings were hurt and she acted out - that's all normal. Ever was listening to Damen about trying to keep it a secret, but she should have taken that leap of faith with Haven. I think if she had been honest with Haven and Miles from the start, they wouldn't be talking to Roman now and things might be more difficult for him, but them where's the fun in that?
See where I'm going with this? No relationship can withstand lies and secrecy and I think that's one of the points that Alyson wants to illustrate.
Besides, how do we know that making Haven and immortal was the wrong decision? We don't. It's possible that, while Haven might start out as the feisty one, she could turn out to be the one who saves the day in the end. You never know.
wow... you really do feel for Ever, now that you put it that way...wow that is sad i just remembered that she lost her parents, sister, dog (buttercup) and some friends from her old place...
ok well Ever doesn't seem that bad but still you can agree some of her choices were kinda childish, but i guess that's wat teen are, right...? i never thought of her like that....
Yikes, sorry Ever....
Yes, Skye, her choices were childish, but, as you said, that's the point. She hasn't grown enough to trust herself. Let's not forget that even she started doubting herself when she met Jude and started experiencing those feelings for him. Even she began to wonder, but she's not able to open herself to the idea that Damen might be right.
Think about it. She's lost all she knew once already and her ability to crossover with those she loved was taken away by Damen, who convinced her they were meant to be together. Sure, I don't doubt that they do love each other, but here's the bigger picture - if Ever admits to herself that Damen might be right in that her and Jude were supposed to be together in one of the past lives and just have unfinished business, then her world as she knows it will fall apart for a second time, and she's not ready to deal with that.
How do you deal with the idea that your life could be a lie? It's no different than an 18 year old suddenly finding out that he/she's been adopted and not really a biological part of the family and has an unknown lineage out there. It messes with your head, how you think and react, and can cloud judgment. While many of us would ask, "What does it matter?" there are still many of us who would see it as a betrayal by the two people in the world you're supposed to count on have continued to lie to you your entire life.
As readers, we need to scratch beyond the surface of characters to truly understand why they do what they do. Make no mistake, Damen and Ever are more deep and complex than they seem, and that's why I like this series.
Really? I still have to read it. I hope you're right cause the others other than the first were not my favourite.
HEY! Evermore is the best... so far.. lolz anyways Elyana is it really good is it really better than the rest??? Should be good
****SPOILER ALERT***Finished this book in one day, despite the hubby and kids and everything! :) Jude was an interesting twist. I loved the whole part in the museum where Damen paints Ever, and they almost get caught by the guards. I like to believe that Rayne is coming around to liking Ever. She's just getting over herself ;)
All in all a good book.
Ok...so I read the first 3 books of the series back to back and this one was my least favourite. It well desereves those 2 stars.Whereas Evermore and Blue moon were intense and interesting the story here ,I thought, circulated mostly around Ever wanting to sleep with Damen and abagin her making tons of mistakes and NEVER listening to the others.I can't say I didn't like it at all,but I was quite disappointed.
And the ending was so boring...the same thing repeating over and over again,I'm sick tired of Ever's stubborness

Happy discussing!
:D
