Oooo! I have so many that I love! Anything by Terry Pratchett, Martha Wells, Tad Williams, Barbara Hambly, Barbara Hambly,Tanya Huff, and way too many more!
Dust and Moonlight is a time-travel fantasy offered by 1Romance e-books, http://1romanceebooks.comHere's the latest review:
Keta Diablo outdid herself! I had the pleasure of reading Land of Falling Stars several months ago and knew instantly that I'd found an author who would be on auto buy. This is actually the third book I've read by this author and it just keeps getting better and better! I have yet to be disappointed.
In Dust and Moonlight, Diablo brings Kira to another world in another time. A land where her father was summoned from. Kira has traded one battle for another and is faced with the chance at a love that will know no bounds. Her desire to go home is at battle with the desire to stay wrapped in Balion's strong arms of love.
Dust and Moonlight is a definite 5 star read that I highly recommend to any one with a love for romance, fantasy, and time travel. Heather's Reading Romance
I have been reading Running with the Demon by Terry Brooks. It's been a bit slow here and there and the POV shifts alot, but so far an interesting concept. It seems like a prequel to the The Sword of Shannara series. I'm actually intrigued to read the whole series now despite the pacing.
I liked the Sword of Shannara series. Although I admit I read it years ago - cough, cough - when I was in high school. :)
Here's some fantasy classics and newbies that I had the great pleasure of reading. So many great books to read. So little time!
Here's the book that started it all for me, and I reread it every year or so:
A few others i highly recommend:

Robin McKinley is one of my favorite writers.
She wrote my all time favorite vampire book: Sunshine. It's a must read.

So far, pretty well!
I have a question for anyone who has the insight and ability to answer...my niece really enjoyed The Spiderwick Chronicles series, and we are trying to find books along that same line to introduce her too...we haven't been able to get any suggestions from anyone...Please help! :)

Stacie wrote: "I have a question for anyone who has the insight and ability to answer...my niece really enjoyed The Spiderwick Chronicles series, and we are trying to find books along that same line to introduce ..."The Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander is excellent and I think appropriate for a 9 year old...though I still read it. ; )
Stacie wrote: "I have a question for anyone who has the insight and ability to answer...my niece really enjoyed The Spiderwick Chronicles series, and we are trying to find books along that same line to introduce ..."If you're looking for fantasy, there's the classics like The Chronicles of Narnia,
otherwise I just published a modern sci-fi/fantasy novel about two girls: Warped & Wired
.It may be in a slightly older age bracket than spiderwick, but not by a lot(and it is clean for all ages, if you're worried about that).
I'm not a real authority on fantasy(yet), so this is just off the top of my head. hope this helps.
Thanks for you help. I appreciate everyone's suggestions! I'll have to take a look at some of these and see if she is interested...she's been picky lately!
Stacie wrote: "Thanks for you help. I appreciate everyone's suggestions! I'll have to take a look at some of these and see if she is interested...she's been picky lately!"No prob. If your niece likes watching stuff, I have three book trailers @ http://www.youtube.com/joshuacaleb75 and more info @ www.thewryterchronicles.com
Otherwise, there's Harry potter, peter jackson & the olympians(though I found these to be a bit graphic) Oh, by the way, has you niece read the "beyond spiderwick" sequel series?
Stacie wrote: "Thanks for you help. I appreciate everyone's suggestions! I'll have to take a look at some of these and see if she is interested...she's been picky lately!"I just thought of another one. Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness quartet is very well done, although there is a mention of implied sexual activity. Anything by Tamora Pierce should be awesome. I suggest getting one from the library and seeing what your niece thinks.

No, she hasn't read the "Beyond Spiderwick" sequel series... at least not that I know of. I'll have to ask her mother for sure. That would be something she would probably be interested in if she hasn't read them already. :)
Have you tried Fablehaven by Brandon Mull? It's a good read. Diane Duane's Wizard series is also good. The first book is titled, "So you want to be a Wizard?" Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching books are also excellent. The Wee Free Men, A Hat Full of Sky, and Wintersmith.Hope those help!
Angel in a Fur CoatMy book, Angel in a Fur Coat, is a fantasy story about dogs for ages 7-11 and anyone who shares love with a dog. www.Gooberella.com

If she likes cats, the Warriors series by Erin Hunter are outstanding and very easy reads. She also is starting a series (the Seekers) about bears, but I haven't read that one. I know kids love both tho. The last I heard, the Warriors had three sets of 6 books each, plus some stand alones.
Hi All: Just to let you know, my first book Persephane Pendrake and the Cimaruta has been re-published under "The Persephane Pendrake Chronicles-One--The Cimaruta with a lovely new cover. Slight changes in the story, more in tune with where I'm going with the rest of the series.http://budurl.com/Persy
