Diane | 1 comments Was Jodi one of the jurors in the movie, "Plain truth"?

Sheryl (shashee71) | 18 comments Oh my gosh... I just watched Plain Truth last night and thought the same thing!!

I am not sure. I will have to do some research on that. If I find out, I'll check back in!

nina (ladeeda) | 29 comments I can't wait for "My Sisters Keeper".. Should be SO good!! So far i know Cameron Diaz is in it..

message 4: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) Yes, Christina, but they are completely changing the ending. It will be your typical "happy Hollywood ending" from what Jodi said at her last booksigning at the bookstore that I work at. She tried to fight for the ending to remain intact, since the book is so popular, but she was told by the Producer that "reader's don't matter". You won't catch me anywhere near that movie.

Jaime | 74 comments I second that Kathy! Not so much because they changed the ending (not that it doesn't upset me) but because of the "readers don't matter" comment. I have to stand up for what I believe and I beleive that comment is wrong and detrimental to our society.

Jaime | 74 comments Plain Truth is one of my personal favorites!

message 8: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cherieann) | 1 comments Has anyone read Harvesting the Heart? I have read about 4 different Jodi Picoult books and this is the first one I put down because I just couldn't get into it. Just wanted to know if it gets any better. My favorite by far has been the "Vanishing Acts" one where the father kidnapped his own daughter. I liked it better than My Sister's Keeper. Also, on IMBD they have the cast list for Sister's Keeper if you are interested. Cameron Diaz??? Not who I would have pictured in that role, but maybe she'll be able to pull off something more serious.

message 9: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (missbrittany) I just finished HtH about a week ago. 4 stars for me. It's a different style, mostly because it's only her 2nd novel. I liked it better than The Pact and Tenth Circle.

Jaime | 74 comments I really liked Harvesting the Heart. I think I may have really gotten into it because my son was around the same age as the baby at the time I was reading it and I could (or could not) relate to the main character (can't remember her name) at the time. I definitely agree that it was very different from most of Jodi Picoult's other novels and can understand why it may not be a favorite for many. I'm not so sure that it had a really broad controversial theme like her other novels that could really draw almost anyone in that may pick it up to read. It seemed more personal. Does that make sense? I do remember it getting more and more interesting as the story developed though, Cherie. Of course, that's only my opinion. I agree with you though, Brittany. I definitely liked it better than The Pact, which I didn't care for that much. I know, I know, I'm in the minority!

nina (ladeeda) | 29 comments Ok, so I don't like that they're changing the ending, but im still definetly going to watch the movie. Ofcourse it won't be as good as the book, but whatever. :)

the ending is the book! it's jodi's style of writing! the sudden twist in the ending! the movie for then tenth circle, the person who plays trixie looks nothing like her. she's supposed to have red hair not blonde and not super pale skin.

message 13: by Betsy (new)

Betsy (mistymtladi) | 36 comments I'd like to see a movie or at least a TV special around Halloween prehaps made from Second Glance. It has enough woo-woo and enough morality , sorta like Signs, that it could be really worth seeing I think.

message 14: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Ashley (kbamccain) | 1 comments They are making a Lifetime movie out of Salem Falls, but I am not sure when. Anyone else know?

message 15: by Kitty (new)

Kitty The Tenth circle is full of mysterious air, and twist in the plot. Somehow the movie just doesn't have the same qualities. Very disappointing.

message 16: by Marlo (new)

Marlo Urey | 5 comments Books are just so much better 90% of the time with most authors, period!!!

I agree with you, Betsy! I loved Second Glance and don't hear much about it. I think it would translate well to film.

I only saw My Sister's Keeper and thought they shouldn't have made the ending like that. But it is my opinion
