Brad | 1 comments I picked up all 3 books by Bryan Peterson...Understanding shutter speed, Understanding Exposure and Learning to See creatively. You need to have a mintor understanding of what aperture, shutter speed and iso are but they really help show you what each can do. Amazing picture examples and very easy reading. You can also youtube his name and find some videos of him.

I got 'The Digital Photography' books by Scott Kelby which I found helpful and informal. I'd probably recommend a good manual for your camera too, as I got a Nikon D60 for my birthday, and all the settings were quite overwhelming.

Bambi (bdingman) I second Scott Kelby's set of books (now up to three books) Especially great if you're a visual learner and find manuals and lengthy explanations difficult to read!

I also love Digital Photographer's Handbook by Tom Ang because you can pick it up and read about the topic that you're interested in at any given time.
