Unapologetic_Bookaholic I will add some books in a little bit. I have a hard time setting aside books and saying: Don't touch for a month lol.

I was just just thinking the same thing

message 3: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore I have that same problem, lol. I was thinking about adding my books as I go along, so they can coincide with some the other challenges that I try to participate in.

I can't make a long list and stick to it. I read by whims. I have 100s of books waiting to be read, but I keep getting distracted by shiny new releases. I just have to list books as I read them.

Cat (shynet5025) | 31 comments i know the new releases takeme off track Like I just got the new Laurell K Hamilton and whatever I was reading got put on hold

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Yes! These are the ONLY books I know for sure I'll be waiting until January to read. I don't have too big a problem with new releases being a problem but with series I am totally into I'll end up buying the whole thing!

Unapologetic_Bookaholic No Jim. It was a Library book, and I had to return to before I finished. It had a good start and interesting characters. I will check it out again.

message 13: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo Push was one strange book. I couldn't take much of reading it in the beginning but I think half way though I couldn't put it down and the way she talked I got used to reading. I still was undecided if I wanted to see the movie afterwards or not. At this stage I'll probably wait for it in dvd.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic I went to see the movie. I was TOUGH. I tried not to cry [hate doing it at the movies:]. But it is as sad as the book. It was a strange book to read but I liked Precious in the end. How far she decided to go, after everything.

message 15: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I saw she got a nomination for the movie. It would be great if she wins. I guess it depends who she is up against in the category. I've seen her on different shows and she seems like a very sweet girl.

message 16: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I agree, Kenjii, the movie was tough to watch. All the performances were amazing. I think Monique is going to win in her category (Supporting Actress) ... she played the mother.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic BTW, I found a copy of Anansi Boys for 50 cents at work [bookstore:]. So I have a personal copy. Will probably take a while to finish, but I do like the theme and characters.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Catherine: I think Monique should/will win too. I will watch the Oscars just to see! I really have never seen such raw emotion given from each actor.

message 19: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I thought the girl who played Precious was amazing too. I'm not sure how to spell her name, but I think it's Gabrielle Salide? The Best Actress category is always VERY competitive. I think either Sandra Bullock or Meryl Streep will win. But can you imagine being that young (I think she's only 19 or 20), being nominated for your first movie role, and being in the same category as Meryl Streep?? I would die from the excitement!!

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Catherine: She's def. in the big leagues =D. It's Gabourey Sidibe.

message 21: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I can't wait to see what she does next! Thanks for the correct spelling.
