Darkfire was thirsty. She found a nice man with broad shoulders and cornered him in an alley. She licked her lips and dug her fangs into his flesh, sucking the sweet blood into her body.

"This way Zeni" Midnight called out, "I smell blood this way."
Zeni followed her cat down one alley then another. She shivered with anticipation. She hadn't had blood for a few days, any she could find would be welcome.

Darkfire's eyes were bloodshot. She saw Midnight. "hello."

Midnight hissed. She wasn't particularly fond of any vampires besides Zeni.
"Midnight where'd you go?" Zeni called.
Rounding a corner she stopped short seeing Darkfire.

"oh. a vampire."

Zeni stepped back in surprise.
"Um who...who are you?" she asked, picking up the still hissing Midnight.

"Darkfire."

Zeni relaxed a bit.
"Darkfire" she said, "Nice to meet you. I'm Zeni." she extended her hand.

She shook her hand. "Pleasure."

Zeni smiled more then saw the man lying against the wall. Her throat burned.
"Have you been feasting?" she asked Darkfire.

"About twice a week. The people here are either really fat or skinny. The blood doesn't taste as good."

Zeni looked hungrily at the man but she knew that taking any more blood from him would be foolish.
"Normal is better." she said, licking her lips, "That's why I chose my donor carefully."

"Oh yeah, this guy. His family is very healthy." Darkfire suggested. "Best blood I could get."

Zeni smiled but she still hesitated to take his blood.
Teren is good enough for me she told herself.

"You want some?" Darkfire saw Zeni eying the man.

What would Teren say? Zeni wondered. She sighed and shook her head.
"No, my donor would be furious." she said appologetically to Darkfire.

"Donor?"

Zeni looked at her in surprise.
"You don't know what a donor is?"

"Nope. I'm unintelligent."

Zeni couldn't help but laugh, she liked this other vampire.
"A donor is kinda like a walking blood sorce. I take blood from him once a week. Or sometimes once every other week if I don't need that much." she sighed thinking that it had been two weeks since she had visited Teren for blood.

"Does he know you're a vampire?"

"Well duh!" Zeni laughed, "I can't exactly take blood from him without him knowing I'm a vampire!"

She nodded emotionless.

Zeni saw her neural expression and calmed down a bit.
"Sorry I forgot to mention that he's my twin brother Teren." she said quietly, "He's stuck by me ever since I became a vampire, our parents don't even know."

"Oh. And your... cat?" Darkfire looked at Midnight.

Midnight hissed.
"What about her?" Zeni asked suspiciously.

"Where did you get it?"

"Actually she found me." Zeni smiled, "You see I seem to attract animals to myself. Though most leave after awhile Midnight has stayed since she first found me as a kitten 3 years ago."

"Oh."

"Out of curiosity why do you ask?"

"I don't know, just that I don't see many vampires."

Zeni nodded.
"I know what you mean."
She smiled.
"In that case do you want to stick together?"

"Sure."

"Yay!" Zeni cried happily. Midnight looked at her a bit annoyed.

"Where do you live?" Darkfire asked.

"I live wherever I want!" Zeni replied grinning, "Mom and dad think I'm dead that's why Teren and I meet in secret. Currently Midnight and I are living in an abandoned shack on the outskirts of the city."

"Oh."

"If we're going to be sticking together I suppose you should come." she said, "Follow me!"
She headed off in the dirrection of the shack.

Darkfire followed her. "This is a lot more grand than my typical shelter."

"Where do you usually live?" Zeni asked pushing the door open.

"Usually in the alleyways. I always go somewhere different."

Zeni stared at her in surprise.
"The alley's!" she exclaimed, "Well you won't live there any longer! From now on you live here with me and Midnight!"
"And me!" an excited voice from inside the shack cried. A small dog leapt out of the dark and onto Zeni, licking her face.
"You're home! You're home!"

"What's this?"

Zeni pushed the little dog off of her.
"This is Coco" she laughed, "Her owners abandoned her here. Actually she's the one that lead me and Midnight here. She scratched Coco's ears smiling.

"Oh. Hello, Coco."

Coco barked and leapt up onto Darkfire licking her face.
"Coco!" Zeni laughed trying to pull her away from the girl.
Midnight sniffed and stalked into the house.

"this is your home?"

"Yep welcome to my humble abode!" Zeni laughed bowing and flicking on the lights.
There wasn't much left in the house. Just a couch and a chair the kitchen was devoid any electronic appliences. There was a light in the ceiling and a lamp leaning against a bookshelf.
Zeni walked over to the shelf and picked out one of the books then she hopped onto the couch and started reading.
"Make yourself comfortable." she said, "Bedrooms are upstairs. You can explore more if you wish."
