I really don't know what kind of story mine is... if you think you know please tell me!!

My idea is that there is this 14 year old girl named Detroit(not the best name) and her parents got a divorce in early December- hey, remember Christmas? Poor girl! So... her mom gets really mad that her ex-husband took her daughter (Detroits sister) to Alaska for Christmas without Detrioit or herself. Her mom then abuses Detroit-she hits her and stuff. Detroit comes to school all beaten up about everyday and one of her good guy friends named Ryan notices... and tells his parents and princible. Detriot gets REALLY mad when the priniclbe (Mr. Smith) comes to her house and takes her away from her mom intil 'things get better.' Well, she needs somewhere to go. Mr.Smith chooses Ryan's family since Ryan found out and Detroit is forced to spend Christmas with them. The plot is that toward the end of the book after dealing with everything, Detroit runs away. Ryan has to find her....... and I haven't gotten farther!
