looking forward to the coming year! This past year was so crazy for me i didn't take full advantage of this group-looking forward to see what everyone is reading and getting suggestions!
#1 Just Take My Heart: A Novel by Mary Higgins Clark Listened in the car book on CD! Always enjoy her mysteries-lots of twists in this one-literally couldn't figure it out until the last 2 chapters!
#2 The Saturday Wife by Naomi Ragen Happy New Year- woke up to a blackout!! No computer so finally finished this book-really enjoyed it- Lite easy read!
Two read already this year. Aren't you AMAZING! Happy New Year Merri. So glad to be reading with you again this year.
I started both last year-then never got to finish! when i had no electric this morning- i sat by my back door and finished the last 75 pages if The Sat. Wife-I wake up early everyone else was asleep-then I went out to run some errands and the book on CD ended- i was hysterical laughing! I just kept thinking- 2 down 73 to go!

Now there's a great idea! No computer=MORE READING!!! =) Lets all heave-ho all our computers out the window...we'd probably all easily reach our challenge!!! =) Great job on #2!
I totally agree- but I'm addicted to the farm games on facebook- New Years resolutions- less farming more reading! The Help-has already got my attention-so it should be easy to stay off computer!

Merri, The Help was probably my favorite read of 2009! Enjoy!

I know what you mean, Merri, I downsized my farm this year so I won't spend soooo much time on it. I really want to focus more on my two passions in life: cross stitching and reading...I could have read soooo much more if I'd just shut the comp off!
So here is the planI have one book on Cd going in the car
i am reading The Help-
i am reading Are you there Chelsea its me vodka-lunchtime at work-
I could never concentrate enough on The help at work!

Sounds like a good plan! =)
#3 Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelseaby Chelsea Handler
If you like Chelsea Handler-you will love this book!
#4 The Diary by Eileen Goudge 2 stars- I was disappointed in this book-Usually enjoy her books more.
Definitely! I can't really even say why- it just didn't grab me- maybe because i listened to it on CD in the car.
#6 Bed of Roses (Bride Quartet, #2) by Nora RobertsTypical chick Lit- like going to the movies to see a romantic comedy! 4 stars
#7 The Jean Nidetch Story-an autobiography Picked it up at my Weight Watcher meeting-read it in 1 day(120 pages) Very motivational!

I used to LOOOVE Nora Roberts! I suppose I still do, but have branched out a bit, i still have a handful of her books on my TBR shelf, but I've not read this one, I may need to add it! She does know how to spin a good tale!
I used to read a lot of Nora Robert's too and then I got away from it to read more serious and diverse stories and I never really read anything by her after that. I do have some of her other books and I'm inspired to try her again, I would really like to read one of her newer books to see if her writing has changed at all.
Her writing is the same- I find that sometimes after a deeper book like The Help- I need an easy read- she is perfect! Also when I am crazed at work- like now- it is President's Day but I came in anyway cause I am swamped- i can't read anything heavy.
Put down Anna Karenina for now- Not the time for a book i need to totally concentrate on- I will go back to it at some other time.
#8 Just Who will You BE- Maria ShriverRe-read Excellent book -short to the point but a deep message about life
Merri wrote: "Put down Anna Karenina for now- Not the time for a book i need to totally concentrate on- I will go back to it at some other time."Merri, I did the same thing about 5 years or so again and it's still waiting to be picked up again! Maybe someday...
#9 Knit the Season- Kate Jacobs 3 stars- 3rd in the series- not many surprises in this one! This was a book on CD- Went to work yesterday-even though a holiday-I get an extra day whenever I want it- so I was able to listen all day!
Merri I have City of Thieves and The Beach House on my TBR pile. Glad you enjoyed the Beach House. I started it, got midway through and got distracted by something else. I need to go back and finish it. It was a good one! Glad you enjoyed it. Would you recommend City of Thieves? Will I enjoy it?
#12 Finger Licken Fifteen- Janet Evonovich- just love all her books- can't wait until they let us know who will play the characters in the movie!
I actually listen to her books on CD in the car-and when he says "BABE" i melti always think of Antonio Bandaras-but i think he is to old!
Ohhh really?! She would be about the last person I would pick for the part of Stephanie...lol I do like her a lot but I'm just not able to picture that. hmmmmm
Am I the only one who thought Stephanie had long dark wavy hair? Not sue where i got that from- but I really think they need to consult with me before casting!
Maybe they will dye her hair dark and give her extensions??? Would that help with her being cast as this character? :-)
Oooo, I just saw a pic of KH and SHE HAS REALLY REALLY dark hair!!!! I knew inquiring minds would want to know!! :-)
I heard she'd dyed it dark. But will she do the whole 80s perm thing. Cause Stephanie's from Jersey and had BIG hair, right?
