Deb Mackie I can't get over all the whining about the cliffhangers and the multiple story lines. That's one of the things I love about Diana's books--they're a great ride down several roads at once, and they always twine together in one way or another. The cliffhanger just makes me look forward to the next one all the more!!!

I also appreciate the immense amount of time that Diana puts into the research, writing, editing and everything else that goes into these books. I am also a Jamie and Claire junkie, but I would much rather wait several years for one of her fabulous epics than rush her to knock off some quickie romance novel every year. Really, there's plenty of that fluff floating around out there by other authors to keep you busy while you wait.

I also have to say that I have come to absolutely adore Lord John and his complex personality. If you haven't already, I definitely recommend reading the Lord John series while you're waiting for more Jamie and Claire.

Bravo, Diana!

I agree - well said.

Dee I didn't think the cliff-hanger in this one was near as bad as the one between Dragonfly in Amber and Voyager or Voyager and Drums of Autumn...and I ended up really enjoying it - I did do the audiobook version, but found myself driving extra places just to listen to a little bit more

Mireille Chester Diana is my hero. If I ever get to be half of the author she is I'll be satisfied. The time she puts into a book is tremendous and there's never a part of the book that you think you should skip through. I keep checking her website to see if the next book is going to be out soon. I mean, does Jamie decide to break Lord John's nose for that last comment? What happened to Jem? My biggest thing now, though, is where is Ian's life going to go? It's gotten to the point where I'm almost more in love with him than with Jamie... lol Whatever Diana comes up with for the next novel in this series, you know it will be spectacular.

Peggyzbooksnmusic I also loved AEITB! I would be bored if the story was only about Jamie/Claire....don't get me wrong...I love them but I also really like Bree/Roger, Lord John, and especially Young Ian.

Roz I love the whole series. I don't think there's one of them I don't like. But every time Diane writes a new one, I reread the others before I start the new one. Lost track of how many times I read them. And I always find something new or something I missed. I finally made notes on "hangers" when I finished An Echo in the Bone. I'll still reread it though. I don't often recommend books to friends (they may not like them as much as I do) but I did recommend these. They're even more hooked than I am.
I'm with you Peggy, I look forward to finding about Young Ian and Bree/Roger. And what did happen to Jem? Can't wait to read the next installment.

Bobbie Williams Never have I been introduced to characters I have loved more than Jamie and Claire. Jamie is the penultimate man. Every woman should wish to have a husband with his qualities. Claire is the perfect match for him in every way. She has been thrust into a time she was not meant for and has risen to the task in enviable ways. This is probably the series closest to my heart. Call me a romantic if you must.

Sandra Everyone above is right. These characters suck you in. Make you want more and let you fall hopelessly in love with them.I think it's rather exciting to know that Diana is writing other short stories to fill in gaps of the original Outlander series. This incredible author has created a complete world, and by the time she's done, I think we will know what happened to almost all of the characters.
Keep it coming Diana! You Rock!
