Marisol's Procrastination Station
Ha! It is hard doing without the social networking stuff. I know. A time goal for editing is good, 'cos you can't really say 'I'm going to edit 4000 words today'. They might be great as they are, so you're finished in an hour. Or they might need completely rewriting, in which case it'll take a couple of days. But if you say - I'm going to edit for XX minutes, at least you have a consistent target.
Yeah. For awhile I tried for pages, but right now I'm completly rewriting the second half... but it's hard to count WC becasue I periodically past a couple pages from teh origional in, etc.
I like the time-goal of edit - I might do something like it. I got a proofread on my 90k words novel back some week ago and it's screaming for attention. Facebook-less editing?
HI MARISOL! :) 'sup? ;D Awesome goals. Good luck! That reminds me … I need to finish/edit my NaNo novel too. I really want my CreateSpace copy. GAHH! Anyway … ttyl ;D haha
HI BRIGID! :) I realized a little bit ago that it would cost half as much money to order a copy of Shadows from Lulu then it would to go to Kinknos and print it. $27 at Kinkos, $12+shipping at Lulu.Yes. Facebook= less editing.
wow really? i've used Lulu once but i usually just use Kinko's. huh. i've also wanted to try CreateSpace :]true that. XD
Yeah... Shadows is 290 pages and Kinkos just raised prices to .09/page. So yeah. It's cheaper oh lulu and you can get it in 8.5x11 anyway.
'K. I've never printed any of my novels... of course, teh first serious one I did was started in the beginning of february, so yeah. Lol. And I'm still working on it...
:]i've printed all of mine except Soul Stealer … and Walking Shadow of course cuz it's not finished yet O_o
:-) Yeah that kind of defeats t he purpose. But you've finished stuff.I am going to drag myself offline now and work on the ending to Shadows for a bit because I've been online for 45 min. I'll go back on in a bit, I just need to fix that part.
I JUST FINISHED THE SECOND DRAFT OF SHADOWS!!!!!!!!!!!Final count:
pages; 345, 1.5 spaced
Words; 121,219
Chapters; I stopped adding in chapter breaks. I need to do that.
Plot holes; too many.
Thanks! it seems a little TOO long. I think a couple parts might have accidentally been pasted in twice. Still. of course, now no one is ever going to read it. (I am going to work on Soul Stealer for the rest of t he week, btw.)

*snort* Ridiculous! Facebook TOTALLY isn't distracting. haha.
Good luck, Marisol!
Look at your topic title. Notice that it's in all caps, and you claim that because if that, your topic is best. Now, look at Marisol's topic. See that it is also in all caps, and contains the word "capitol" (although I think that it would be capital letters with an a, but I'm not entirely sure).
Do you see why it's funny?
Do you see why it's funny?
The "capitol" was a play on words. Lol. Because then it means my "kingdom" is where all the leaders live. I might just leave it at "capital" though cause it makes more sense. :D
Sorry, Brigid. I couldn't resist.
sure. Anytime. And I mean that literally. In 20 years you can send me your completed manuscript and I'll probably read it.
No. Just... tear it apart looking for trivial flaws ;-) kind of like the remains of Soul Stealer. *guilty look*
Tally for yesterday: probably half an hour or so of editing. I didn't time myself. Today: none. I might do some later. I just got back from the lodge and am taking a day off. *guilty look*

Marisol. Maybe when I am twenty one ( and a much better writer due to years of ACTUAL english classes) and REALLY high on something I will let you edit my stories.
Until then I think I'd rather be keeled than have you edit it.
Marisol wrote: "You don't have to let me. Lol. "
Haha :D No, I'll let you. I just need to finish it and edit it once first …
Fyopiagdt the CIA Pirate wrote: "Yeah."Oh. Did Brigid show you Soul Stealer after I'd been lose with the red font?
Brigid- so far, I haven't seen really anything wrong with Walking Shadow. I missed a couple chapters though. I need to make them up. Lol.
I love editing though. It's just kind of fun... not my own stuff, though. I read Soul Stealer in two days, but it takes me at least a week to read Shadows (possibly to be renamed Shadow Mirror). Probably because I've read it so many times that it's boring.
lol, no I didn't show her. XD haha ok. There are a few problems with the plot … and a lot of dumb little typos. But I hope there's nothing too majorly wrong with it. XD
Yeah, I hate editing my own work but I love editing other people's. My own writing bores me, too, especially after I've read each story about five thousand times. I know what you mean. XD
Yeah... its driving me insane. I cant' get very far and it's so annoying. I need to pay one of my friends to read it at this point. But I'm not going to stoop that low yet. There isn't anything majorly wrong with it. Again, just make it an emotional ramp instead of stairs.
Don't worry, I can't get my friends to read my writing either … *sigh*Coolbeans. haha yeah, I'll work on that. XD

So, in a break from tradition
Word goal: 1,000 words/day
OR
Editing goal: 30 minutes of facebook-less editing.
-Finish editing the shadows in time to get the free copy from CreateSpace
-When I'm done wtih that, maybe take another look at Nine Paper Planes (wear gloves and gas mask!)
-Get a zine out every three months at least
-Write a short story every month
