Haha, a couple nights ago I had a dream in which everybody sang. There were 3 brothers or friends or something, and I was the oldest. We were at a boarding school or something, and we were in the same room.

Then we found out that the youngest, a sixth grader, was a kleptomaniac, and had been stealing things from the headmaster (who was not a nice man) since 4th grade. And then we were being chased out of the school by the headmaster because he figured out where all of his stuff was going. And the three of us hid.

I'm really curious as to where it would have gone had I not been woken up by my older brother... anyhow, I think that I'm going to turn it into a story. :) Or a screen/stage play so that I could have the musical part of it!

Malin (tusenord) I don't remember my dreams either. Apart from the one where I'm chased by elks(br)/mooses(am) and the WITCH inspired one when I jumped out of a rose-clad tower thinking I could fly.

Just Plain Ray (Ray_of_Sunshine) | 234 comments I did have a few odd dreams, but most of them concerned people I liked >-> And then sometimes they were really weird, and i think I wrote them down...

Although, i had this one dream..it was odd. But I was auditoning for this school with acting, and I got in. Then this guy, who looked like he was in teh military, took me to a train with no walls (so there was a chance of falling into teh river beside us). then the tracks ended and the train dove into the water. Then we were teleported to some place infested with trees. And my social studies teacher was chopping one down, and she said she would teach us how to do it. Then me and the military guy go into a tree which has a cave-thing inside and it was very high-tech inside the tree. So we kept going and I suddenly saw this really weird kid in my class standing off somewhere. (oh, i forgot to mention all our foreheads were glowing orange >->) and then my classmate started a fight with some other military dude, and the dude turned into a giant rat. so the first milittary dude told me to shoot him, and i said no. he gave me a stapler, but then i gave it to my classmate who shot the rat. then the first military dude came over to me, looking really pissed, and then i shot myself with god-knows-whatt, and the whole dream relayed itself in my mind backwards. Then i woke up.

Phew, that was a mouthful.

Paige Miller | 672 comments I have inspirational dreams a lot- unfortunately, I don't have time to write novels about them! :(

A teenage girl, fifteen, sixteen at the most, climbs down an ancient, rusted fire escape, one that clearly hasn't been used in decades. Her blonde hair is cut in an endearing but edgy pixie that reaches just past her chin. She's two stories off the ground when the floor falls through. Surprsingly, she doesn't fall- she flips in midair, grabs hold of a conveniently located ledge, and drops to the ground. She lands on her feet, straightens up and laughs, as though intoxicated by some freedom or adrenaline.

She walks forward into the futuristic city, the tall buildings stretching like walls in an endless line of steel and cement. Laughter rings out, echoing against the silent metropolis. The girl follows the sound, running around a corner and then skids to a halt as the laughter gives way to dead silence and shock. A group of maybe ten people stare at her. She opens her mouth to speak but no words come out.

And this one...

A young girl, probably only seventeen, stands on a rocky outcropping in the ocean a few yards from shore. The waves crash around her, and a white dress flows behind her, her golden hair cascading down her back. A harsh wind blows, trying to throw her from the rocks. She looks up at the heavens and laughs, and suddenly angels descend from the sky. One stops next to the girl and they hold hands. The girl sprouts wings. All attention is drawn upon them and they're faces are so unearthly beautiful that no one notices at the world burns.

I'm intrigued by them... a lot of times I wake up and forget though.

E Sweetman | 9 comments There's a whole arena on the study and interpretation of dreams which, from time to time, I find interesting. I have crazy dreams but can never remember most of them.
One that's stayed with me for years is this--
I was in a board room with a crowd of important people where were all looking at and talking about this large, old (ancient) book with a cracked red leather cover with gold print and scrolls all over it. They kept saying it had all the answers--like the answers to everything important. I was trying to push through and reach around to see the book but the people in my dream kept pulling it away from me and looking at me as though I was crazy to want to look at it. I was getting more and more desperate to see this book with all the answers when my brother showed up and said, "Why do you need to look at it, you wrote that book."
All right, grandiose notions that in my dream I write a book with all the answers but so frustrating that I believed if I could just look at it, I'd have all the answers.
Is this a common dream? Of all things, in an episode of the Simpsons, Homer dreamed he invented the greatest invention but was unable to see what he invented. Anyone else ever experience something like it?

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments One time I had a dream about the GR crowd. It was really weird. There was this big Goodreads reunion only there were so many people that they had to split us into two groups, first or second half of the alphabet. I was dissapointed because I wanted to meet Brigid and Acacia. Then Brigid was sitting on a fence so I went over to say hi, but then for some reason I had to go hide behind a big piece of glass in teh basement, and I saw Sella and Acacia run by. Then I woke up.

As for dreams . . . I was half in and half out of sleep when I came up with the idea for W.R.K.R. Which I haven't written any more chapters for since I left goodreads back in August. Wow, I should probably finish working on it.

message 21: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellerobins) i had a really strange dream last night, which i thought would be unlikely, b/c i fell asleep at like four inthe morning and woke up not too long ago, and it wasnt the most restful sleep ever either, i might add.
it was really strange. it was something about somehow i lived really close to my school--which i dont--and i'd forgotten my lunch at home when i was walking. which sucks. it was about five minutes until clas started, and that's about how long it would have taken to get back to my house, apparently. so i went out the back, and it looked just like a normal apartment parking lot, brick building in the back and all. apparently my mum pulled up, and we were arguing about something that i dont quite remember. but i got my lunch. i went around the school, trying to get back inside and to get in, thinking of a shortcut before i got there. random flower growing out of brick building, which the school isnt, but apparently it was in this instance. dead end, went back around and inside, somehow... went the wrong way to my locker, which is by my first class. saw random set of stairs at the end of the main hallway that wasnt there before... which made me curious.
and then my friend called me and woke me up. the end.

message 22: by LaNaria (new)

LaNaria (laenae) I had a nightmare about witches one night (don't like them). It was during a time where I really wanted story ideas. The dream started out just like my writer's dreams (the kind where you dream about your story). It had the same feeling only it was a different place. An old cottage that felt like I lived there, as if it had bad memories, good memories, and the in between. Well a girl appears, without thought I label this girl as me. She has pale skin, her hair is down. She is around the pilgrim time era. She seems busy. She passes by servants of the house; she seems like a servant herself. Nothing strange. Around the servant (both male and female) the girl is treated well. As soon as she leaves the house though a black cat jumps onto the table. The servant do not shoo it away. The cat has a man's face. A servant woman in her forties eyes the cat. "So is it time?" the cat sneers.
"She's not ready yet" The woman stays committed to her chores. "Give it time..."
I've forgotten the rest of what they said, but I knew by the light in their eyes that their intentions were not just. There was a wicked glow in the eyes on everyone in the room. They planned to hurt that girl. When the girl was older they would make her one of them or boil her down. They were not normal witches. By the light of the moon they changed to cats...

It gave me the willies (I've seen Scooby Doo and the Zombie Island) For a few weeks every time I walked by the dining room in my house I saw those witches talking calmly at the table. The house In my dream was exactly like my house and my house is old.

message 23: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellerobins) i had another really strange dream last night. I feel special, because at least i'm dreaming. it was something to do with the college that my mum went to, and my friend was there for art camp. anyway, apparently it was our first day there or whatever, and they were really clever by giving us our schedules printed on shirts that we had to wear all day. dont ask, i dont know either. so i was walking around and i couldnt find anything [reminds me of my first day of high school:], so i was kinda freaking out, like the evil perfectionist that i am. so i was walking around, asking random people for help, kind of giving up once the bell rang every time. i think i was on time for one class. and i saw random people from my middle school that i havent seen since last year, b/c i moved to a different suburb. it was weird. so i was asking some of my friends which way to go, and we went back to one of their houses for some reason... and then it started raining, in which case the print of the schedule on the shirts disappeared.
yeah, strange, i know.
i also ran into my kindergarten teacher, which was weird.
anyway, thats all i remember before waking up to my mum calling my phone that i had left on all night. end scene.
*rereads* holy crap, my mind is weird...

It kind of freaks me out somtimes. But other times it's pretty cool.

message 25: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 672 comments Viewed from above the scene:

A young man, seventeen or eighteen, stares tormentedly at the ground, several hundred feet away. He stands upon a tall skyscraper somewhere in NYC. He screams, a sound full of pain and anguish that makes my hair stand on end. Only a split second later, thunder rolls and lightning strikes the sky. He tears at his dirty blond hair. "Why?" he asks, and I have to wonder the same thing. Why is all this happening? Swells of water pour down the side of the building as the heavens empty buckets of water onto the innocent city. The young man cries out once more, then runs and leaps off the side of the building. Only he doesn't fall- he sort of levitates in that spot, then a gold light flashes upon him and he disappears.

I wake up right then because I need a glass of water. I don't know what it means, but it was HAUNTING. I thought about it for ages before I fell back asleep.

Though a few days back I had a dream I went back in time to 9/11 only I knew exactly what was going to happen- as in "Run, Madi! The plane is going to hit the building in eleven minutes!" and then I dropped my camera and ran back for it. But of course I knew how long I had until it fell down...

And there was cheescake in each scenario..

LOL, that whole thing with the bomber on Christmas makes me smile. Not the part about the guy trying to blow up the plane. The part about the guy who jumped on him. :D It makes me somewhat proud to live in a place where there are people like that. (of course, we've got our share of nutters too. And type A personalities who get depressed when they don't have a job, which is a fairly common thing around here. I think it's about a 20% unemployment rate in Michigan.)

and OMG I love cheesecake! I like making it, too. Then it tastes especially good, because it wasn't mass produced in a factory!

We are so smart someone was waving a sign that said "Keep your government hands off my Medicaid" or the people that were rallying against immigration with a sign that siad "This is are country" or a president that says "The question we should be asking ourselves is "is our children learning in school" and we still elect Joe Lieberman who deserves to be exiled, and...

LaNaria (laenae) Had another nightmare last night. It played like a movie, the beggining was just a flash. a black vampire looking thing was hovering over his lover telling his human daughter to leave them because there was a possability he wouldmake her his knew bride.
Don't ask it was a strange and scary dream.
the vampire's daughter looked like the main girl from the sisterhood of the traveling pants and I hated that movie. Still I felt for her. It gave me the creeps...

Toni | 41 comments Hi...just joining this discussion :D But only just now because i had a really creepy dream last night. I woke up shivering.

I walked through an old medieval town on a dusty, dirty street. There's no sound, no movement, nothing. The air and the buildings are all gray and foggy. And then I start to see the bodies. The entire village is dead. (here I won't give you the details, but it was VERY vivid.) The scene changes, it's a different village and whatever attacked the other village is here now. (i'm not sure of the name, but in my dream they had one. It was something like Stealers or Stalkers....idk) But the things are ghostly wraiths, black and made of vapor, with vague head shapes and long, claw-like hands. They have no distinctive features. Once they have a victim, they get inside that person's body and take his soul, and completely destroy the person without killing them. The victims' skin turns gray and ashen, and their eyes are wide and staring, completely empty.

The details of the bodies in my dreams was frightening. I woke up and literally huddled under my covers until I realized it was a dream. And i'm 18...lol

Then she approaches the edge of the cliff. She looks down, and all you can see is a never-ending chasm of darkness. I scream at her no, don't do it, you can't, but she smiles at me serenely. She leaps from the edge and falls, twirling slowly as she disappears into the dark.

Why, why, why must I have such... haunting dreams?
