Pritkin, Pritkin, Pritkin. That's all I ever hear about this series. Come share your thoughts about him and the series with the group.

I don't understand it I only read book one and I don't see the Pritkin appeal.

Well you're not going to get it from book 1! You have to read books 2 and 3!!

I like the series so I will be reading the next ones in the series but I just don't see myself liking Pritkin. Once I read the next few books I'll see if my opinion changes.

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) And especially 4. :) Mel summed it up perfectly--you hate him in the 1st book, he gets interesting in the 2nd, you start to really like him in the 3rd and by the end of the 4th you're madly in love with him. Lol.

I finished the 1st book and thought all these crazy Pritkin lovers were smoking crack. There was not one nice thing I could say about him. I read the other 3 books and now I too am a crazy Pritkin lover. Pass the crack.

LOL @ Pass the crack. Well now I'm not so sure of my continue dislike of him. You summed up what I felt about him in the first book. I think I'll be adding the next two to my January challenge. lol

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Good, Jael. I'm re-reading 2 and 3 in January, so we can read them together!

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) I think Marlowe may already have a secret lady love...

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Have you read them all? I would have to finish my re-read to give any specific examples, but there is definitely a sense (nothing concrete) that there's something going on with Marlowe and the Consul. It's certainly nothing explicit, it's just something a few of us have inferred from some comments and stuff. We could definitely be wrong, just a hunch...

When I'm done with my re-read I'll try to post some more specific examples of where this is coming from.

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) The secret lady love was implied in Curse the Dawn--if I remember correctly, I think it might have been implied twice, once during the scene at MAGIC with Marlowe & the Consul and once later by Mircea, when Cassie is complaining about him trying to protect her and says the Consul is a woman and she is not coddled, and Mircea says something about Marlowe coddling, or wishing he could coddle.

ok my question for those farther in the series. What happens with the guy who betrayed Cassie in the first book. I don't remember his name. I do remember liking him and was upset he was a traitor.

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Enjee wrote: "Cassie said "What about the Consul? I don't see you locking her up!"
Mircea says "I think Kit would like to try."

Nothing kinky implied, I don't think. Just frustration at trying to keep a public figure safe. "

I don't see this as kinky either, but could be construed as someone wanting to keep their lover safe? Like I said, it's not explicit, just something that may or may not mean more and I'm curious to see if it goes somewhere.

Jael, you're talking about Tomas. No spoilers 'cause I want you to keep reading, but he has a definite presence in book 2. I think you'll be happy with it.

Yes Tomas. I really liked him. Now I can't wait to read the next one.

Enjee Hunt the Moon (Cassandra Palmer, #5) by Karen Chance
The book description was recently updated:

Cassandra Palmer recently defeated a god, which you'd think would buy a girl a little time off. But it doesn't work that way when your new job description is Pythia — the world's chief clairvoyant. Cassie is busier than ever, trying to learn about her power, preparing for her upcoming coronation, and figuring out her relationship with the enigmatic sexy master vampire, Mircea.

But someone doesn't want Cassie to become Pythia, and is willing to go to any lengths to make sure the coronation ceremony never happens—including attacking her mother before Cassie is even born.
