I'd never heard of this book and was delighted to discover it, especially since I'm a spinner and love wool and sheep. The novel has plenty of suspense and appealing characters. I particularly liked the way Ms. Day handled the interface between magic and so-called "ordinary reality" by inserting odd little details that give one pause, such as Carla's webbed toes. The behavior of the sheep also made it believable that they were the reincarnations of the departed nuns. I hope others read this; if not, they're missing a wonderful experience.
I read this when it came up and was very excited because I had been waiting to read it for awhile but overall I was kind of "eh" about the whole book. I was expecting something different. But I did enjoy the twist at the end and everything was described vividly and it was easy to "see" what was going on.
