My thesis is a cultural critique of how and why people abandon places - using social commentary, vignettes, and photographs. I've been a dreadful procrastinator however and am looking forward to having a marked goal for myself.
English, but my undergraduate degree was in English and Philosophy/Religion with emphases in logic and aesthetics. Part of my writing problem is making the philosophies in my work read fluidly and accessibly. Here's hoping 2010 brings inspiration to that effect!
It sounds tricky indeed. We studied some philosophy in high school and I really liked it but never pursued it further.
I never thought I would be a "philosopher" but my high school philosophy teacher was one of my favorites - his dream career was to be a garbage collector. Can't say I ever fully understood the logic behind that, but he was certainly interesting!

Aww. My English teacher will possibly be gone for the rest of the year for the same reason. :P And it sucks, because she's my favorite teacher … >_<
