-The Orphanage-

You walk into a rattled old building. The windows are cracked, the metal is rusted and you see a large you with many toys. You hear playful screams and laughs in the other rooms and above you on the other floors. You have brought your kid here because you don't want them to live a poor life, well a poor life on the streets. A short lady in a maid outfit greets you at the door with a cheerful smile. You shake her hand and she starts speaking in a British accent, "Welcome to The Orphanage. What are you here for?" You explauin to her your situation with your child and she nods understandingly, "Okay. Well come over here and sign these release forms." You go over and sign them, about to cry because you are giving away your own child. She hugs you, "She'sin good hands now, don't worry." You nod and say good-bye to your daughter and tell her this is her new home. She nods, you had this conversation with her already. You give her one last hug and go to your car. Crying as you drive away from the rattled building. The owner yells something throughout the building in French and then screams of pain ring through the building and kids run through the halls. Yells of anger from the workers are shot at the children and smacks of paddles or whips are faint from the top floor. Welcome to the Orphanage.

Characters:
Wind- A 17 year old girl who has been at the orphanage for about 6 years. She has really dark hair that shows very well against pale skin and ghost gray eyes. She has no family or friends(friends-yet) at the orphanage. Her family was killed so she had to come here.

Myst- A 16 year old boy who just came to the orphanage. He hasn't made any friends and he doesn't have family. He is tall and has white hair. He has color-changing eyes that are very mysterious. Myst can be weird at times, but his personality is very flexible.

Kalli- A 15 year old girl who just came to the orphanage. Is a loner. Everyone stays away from her. She was supposed to be going on vacation that her parents gave her for Christmas, which was surprising because it was just her and her parents and other siblings hate her, and it went to the orphanage. She cried as she realized her parents never wanted her, and now she doesn't ever want parents. The people at the Orphanage beat her and lock her up when she gets out of hand. Halie- A six year old girl who has been at the orphanage ever since she was an infant. Sh has fluffy brown hair and sky blue eyes. She hides a diamond necklace in her room and will shut down the orphanage for chold abuse when she gets adopted. Emily- 15 year old girl that has been at the orphanage for 2 years. She has long light brown hair with blue eyes and freckles that fit her well. She cares for the younger orphans as well as she can and wishes she could get out of the orphanage to get help for the kids there.

Personality- passive and docile, rarely smiles or laughs, never cries or yells.
Family in the orphanage- None. Parents died when she was young, and travelled between several relatives who didn't want her for years, before being dropped off at an orphanage in Phoenix. She was just transferred to this orphanage.
Best Friends- none.

They are all in this so in your charrie form don't put, "She tries to get the kids out." Or, "She acts like she dislikes them, but really wants them to have a good home." Yes she. No guys work here.

history: "It all started for me when my mom died. My mom and dad were driving to the movies-my dad was driving- and they got in a car accident. My mom died but my dad was mildly injured. He went absulutely bezerk and got into drugs, which made him crazy and abusive. Things got so bad I raided the house for all of my mom's things. I've got all my Mom's jewlrey in a zip-lock baggie in my hat that i'm wearing. I also took all my dad's cash and sliped it in my shoe. I got a few pictures of my mom, her old purse, some of her clothes-they fit me actually, she was really slender-and anything else I could find and shoved it into a bag, and I filled the rest of the bad with food. I was ready to run. But the next day, some social security people came and dumped me here."))

Wind stood up and started to walk, carrying her books. I wonder who will be new here today, in this stupid dump.

Kalli sat in her cell, waiting for her food and next beating. It was dark, but at least there was a faint glow. She looked around the cell, the rusted-gray, -stained was have always creeped her out.

Wind walked up to the door of the building and started to pick at the lock, leaving her books for school on her 'bed'. she gave up and walked away.

((kalli is just ion a cell because she always talks back and doesnt do what they say. but if thats how wind is then okay. and there is nothing in the cells.))

Wind was bored.

Kalli looked up as her food was delivered and the lady had a short horse wip with a leather square on the end. Kalli glared at her. The lady slapped her across the face, "Don't give me that look young lady." Kalli screamed in pain and the lady hit her as hard as she could across the back, "Can't hurt that bad. And don't scream!" She said hitting her in the leg. Kalli held back a scream and then the lady hit her across the face again, but with the whip, "Be seeing you later." She said and left. Kalli started crying silently, holding her face in her hands.

Wind heard Kalli and waited for the lady to be gone. She walked up to the cell.

Halie walked around twirling her hair with one hand sucking her thumb on the other.

Wind knelt by the cell.

Kalli stared at her food and grabbed a tiny bit.

halie walked up to see who was screaming.

"You alright Kalli?" Wind said softly.

((actually up, they are on the top floor ;) ))

she looked at kalli and decided to leave she didn't want to crowd her.

Kalli nodded, but on the inside everything wasn't all right.

halie trotted down the starts singing to her self.

Wind watched her and nodded. "Alright." wind stood up and started to pick at the lock when pain flared in her back, and she heard the crack of a wip was heard. Wind cried out and was hit again, she sprinted down the hall to her room.

Emily paced around softly. Which aproach do I want to try? The good little kid? That would get me out of beatings. Or rebellious? Then I have a chance of escaping, but at a high price.

Wind lay on her stomach, trying to let the pain ebb away.

Kalli felt bad for Wind, She put herself in danger for me...

Wind got up a while later.

Emily made up her mind to pretend to be a goody-two shoes.

Wind walked out, her dark hair a mess.

Emily gave Wind a sympathetic glance.

Wind looked over at Emily.

Emily was still adjusting to the horrors of the orphanage.

Wind walked up to her, "You doing alright?"

"Yes," Emily said, frightened.

"Alright, if you say so." Wind said, slightly blank. Wind walked towards Kalli's cell and looked around.

Emily sighed and stared at the floor. The bloodstain didn't help.

Kalli sat against the door, the only place where she could look out was a small window in the door.
