Ive just discovered that Carole Nelson Douglas, who writes the Midninight Louie series, has written a marvellous set of books about paranormal beings, set in Las Vegas. The first one, which I'm reading and cant wait to get back to, is "Dancing with Werewolves"I am really addicted to good series of all kind, but if you like marvellous non-paranormal books, I dont think you can get past Katie Fforde and jill Mansell. All their books are stand alones.
Welcome Kasey. Since you made your request in Paranormal Romance, I'm only going to suggest stand-alones in that genre so I don't end up giving you a list a mile long. You might like checking out:Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith
Gil's All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez
Welcome! I am quite the opposite... I love series since I tend to fall in love with the story and/or characters and I never want it to end <3 If I think of any good stand alone books in this genre I will let you know. I would say check out others recommendations and get reading! I hope you join the book challenge :) Its a good way to find new authors.

Use your library!! I spent too much on books and now im using are library and LOVE it.. i read so much more due to the fact that it doesn't cost a penny. I even have books sent from other cities to my library....
If you have a border's express by you they are going out of business and their romance books ight now I am reading the Dark Hunter Novels by Sherrilyn Kenyon. You don't have to read in order to follow the story.
Also, check out used bookstores, thrift stores, rummage sales, boot sales, ebay, PBS (that's a swap site www.paperbackswap.com ) There are a few series that have either a TON of books out (see the Dark Hunters series that Jenn recommended) or have published the last book in the series. Would you be interested in recommendations for those?

There are so many characters mentioned in each book that you wouldn't know about yet..
Sorry I think in order on the Dark Hunter series is the only way to go..
IMHO
Hey :)Some books that I would recommend are:
1.The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
2.Blackbird A Childhood Lost and Found by Jennifer Lauck
3.Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
4.Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey
5.Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty by Jody Gehrman
6.The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
7.I Know It's Over by C.K. Kelly Martin
8.Killing Britney by Sean Olin
9.Last Kiss by Jon Ripslinger
Welcome Kasey. I can't think of any non series books right at the moment. I usually read a lot of series I also fall in love with the characters and story line. Maybe you could try a short series like a trilogy or something. I understand the waiting on a new book. That is the worst. I agree with the suggestion about the library if you have a good one. If your in the states I think some cities have some book exchange clubs that are awesome. I also suggest used books. Well I hope you find something you like.
