January - What are you currently reading?
The New Year arrived with me still halfway listening to J.D. Robb's Glory in Death. Not bad to spend the time with the hot, sexy Roarke. :)Also started today Jennifer Lyon's Soul Magic, book 2 in her new series about witches and witch hunters.
I'm currently reading To the Limit (off my OWN shelf!!!), so that I can get to To the Brink for my monthly challenge, because I am somewhat anal about having to read series in order. But as these are both on my OWN shelves (sorry gotta skite), I am all okey-dokey with that.
I'm over half way done with my first book of the year, Beg For Mercy by Toni Andrews. I've been pleasantly surprised and am enjoying this book. It's one of my own books and is on a few of my challenge lists. According to goodreads, I've had it on my tbr shelf since Jan 27, 2008. Why do I wait so long to read the books I buy?
Just started one of my challenge books today, Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian, and I'm still (slowly) working my way through Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde.
I've just finished The Babe And The Baron, which I am reading for 2 different challenges. Next up--Once Dead, Twice Shy which is needed for 3 challenges. Sigh, I am suddenly thinking I maybe am signed up for too many challenges. Ah well, if I meet 'em all, then that's that many more books off my TBR pile, yes?
I just started Soulless by Gail Carriger and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. :^D (BTW:Happy New Year, all!)
I am reading The Queen's Mistake, In the Court of Henry VIII. It's very good, well written and seems well researched. I have enjoyed others of Diane Haeger's books so I am hopeful for this one as well.
Starting Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre. I loved, loved, loved the first book so I know I'm going to enjoy this!
Starting Hot today but probably won't really get into it til tomorrow since I'm spending the day with my brother.
Just finished This Duchess of Mine by Eloisa James, and I'm thinking of starting Jane's Warlord by Angela Knight.
I've decided. I'm going on an urban-fantasy binge: 've got 2 Jenna Maclaine books Grave Sins and Bound By Sin, My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent, after which I'll be digging into Kitty's House of Horrors. That should keep me busy for a while =D
The third Cin Craven book is out now Kasia. Hope you enjoy the 2 you are reading. I've been a fan of hers since she self published Grave Sins.
The library made my choice for me. Days of Gold by Jude Deveraux (Edilean #2) is a new release and I was on the waiting list and now that I've picked it up, I only have 7 days to read it. Lavender Morning was Edilean #1 and I loved it. This is a historical, and so far, it's...eeehh. lol (And I'm 40 pages in)
Spent yesterday reading Graceling and Fire by Kristin Cashore. I really enjoyed Graceling, but Fire didn't quite measure up. Now I think I'll start Kissing Midnight since it's due back to the library soon.
Emily wrote: "I just started Soulless by Gail Carriger and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. :^D (BTW:Happy New Year, all!)"Loved that book! Laughed out loud!
Just finished On The Way to The Wedding Bridgerton series #8 And Tatiana and Alexander I am in love with this Bronze Horseman series!
.
Going to try and finish The Courtesans Daughter.

Alexia's earned a place as one of my favorite heroines! She's great. hehe
Once again I'm in a reading funk. Haven't read anything for 3 days!!!!! Not going to get my challenges done if this keeps up

Thanks! I like Maclaine, she's got a really low profile, but her books are good. So far what I read I like (a lot).

Anytime I hit a reading funk, I pick up something that I know I'm going to like. Something with lots of humor, no surprise twists, no heroes dieing unexpected and poignant deaths, and often something I've read before. That gets me back into the swing of things.
Good luck on powering through your funk.
Oh and almost forgot. I'm taking a break from reading an anthology I started (Naughty Bits) to read Nora Roberts' Northern Lights. As much as I enjoy a fun erotica anthology, there's only so many back to back 10-20 page sex scenes one guy can take.
Just finished Kissing Midnight, since when does Emma Holly write cliffhangers? :o(Starting Plum Spooky.
Photojim wrote: "Oh and almost forgot. I'm taking a break from reading an anthology I started (Naughty Bits) to read Nora Roberts' Northern Lights. As much as I enjoy a fun erotica ant..."LOL, you are always a source of amusement Photojim. Thanks for the encouragement BTW.
Finished Witch Fire by Anya Bast. Just a thought, if the hero/heroine had spent more time practising magick than getting it on in bed (against walls, on basement floors, in front of mirrors, in cuffs, without cuffs...you get the idea) they might not have almost gotten their butts kicked by warlocks near the end. But hey, that's just me. Other than that, not too shabby a book.
I am on a roll with reading. I have so many books that need to be read and returned to the Library this week so I am trying to plow thru them fast. What a great way to start my reading off for the new year.Just finished The Courtesan's Daugter I did not care for it.
Starting Smooth Talking Stranger

Finished Never After edited by Laurell K. Hamilton.Starting Take Me For a Ride by Karen Kendall. It has a very funny start. Bodes well.
Finished Plum Spooky last night. Very good. :O)Just started Independent Wife. Very cringe-worthy hero.
I just finished Grave Sins, which was good, but not great. Somehow I never worked up much enthusiasm for the book. Now I'm 2 chapters into Kitty's House of Horrors and totally digging it.
Wow!! I just finished
and LOVED it!! I could not put the book down!! What a great new author! Very interesting take on vampires and hot, hot, hot romance!! If you are looking for a new author to try Tracey O'Hara is it!! Very strong female heroine and intense and thrilling story!! I'm reading
next.
FInished Independent Wife last night (comments in the BHB thread). Starting Devil's Bride today. This one I'm looking forward to (especially after Flib's comments in the BHB thread). :O)
Started Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr. I'm feeling a bit lost since it's been awhile since I read the first book in the series. Hopefully, the author will give me gentle reminders of the first book, when necessary. I do enjoy her writing so this should be a quick read.
put Smooth Talking Stranger back on my tbr list.Just finished The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda cheever. I thought it was great.
Just started [image error]
The library also decided my reads this week. Finished Déjà Dead yesterday, and am currently in the middle of Round Robin, a very good book about the threads of friendship & marriage woven into the lives and actions of members of a quilting club. Then will do a reread of Devil's Bride for the BHB thread.

What are you reading? I'm finishing up on few audiobooks that I have left hanging back from 2009 ;D and trying to decide which of the challenge books to go with next... Oh the dilemma
