I'm in the middle of Fragile Things and I think its fascinatingly subversive and creepy. I just finished Other People and it gave me the chills. A common trait in my family is we like creepy fiction because we can laugh it. I know its just someones goofy imagination and I can giggle at their creativity. Anyone else have a fascination they'd care to share?

I've always liked creepy fiction also but I've never thought to laugh at it ,_, Although I did like his short story book better than Good Omens. Maybe I just like short stories too much though.
I've begun re-reading the Sandman Series again and boy am I amazed at his subversive sense of humour. It dawned on me I should read Coraline again as well but with fresh eyes.
They are re-releasing the Sandman series with some new special things added to the volume. I wish it wasn't so expensive. It's really an amazing story.I didn't think I would like a graphic novel, but the illustrations and story line were spectacular! I'd love to read it again.
Which is everyone's favorite Neil book?
Mine would have to be American Gods. I'm looking forward to the HBO series they are turning the book into.
"It dawned on me I should read Coraline again as well but with fresh eyes." DON'T SAY THAT! Someone might oblige. :S
Fragile things was so amazing, and also incredibly creepy, but it read so smoothly man, it was like a train of trippy analogies, loved it.I think Good omens is my favourite book but i do adore American Gods, i keep going back to it. Also, yes, SO EXCITING that they're making it into a series, Crowley is gonna be amazing T_T
I have to say I like his short story collections ("Smoke and Mirrors" and "Fragile Things") the best.
I never liked creepy stories before Neil Gaiman! However having read The Wolves in The Walls to a group of kids they really loved it, I decided to read Fragile Things. It was superb! I have also read Coraline - what a creepy idea another world with the same people but not the same! I have yet to read American Gods. That's one for the summer holidays!
I love Gaiman! As a lifelong reader of both comic books and prose novels, I am certain he is among the best and will be remembered fondly in generations to come. His Sandman is unlike anything else before or after. The worlds he built, the mythology, the nods to world culture - the man is supremely talented.
I read American Gods ten years ago and loved it. In fact, it's on my rereading list for this summer.
I am all sandman. Interworld is unique but his ability to create a noxious universe so easily is fantastic.
