Lucy (austenette) I'm looking for some good books to expand my reading, so I think your suggestions and answers would really help.

I don't have an all-time favourite, but if I did it'd probably be Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, followed closely by To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Personally, i like fantasies, mystery, adventure (just a little action) and a tad bit of horror.
I love suspense too.

there is a high-school drama book called RIGHT WHERE IT HURTS.
its actually quite enjoyable. a bit inappropriate at times, but really very good.

Its about a 17 year old named Slade, and he is quite poor.
He moves to a new High School and makes friends etc etc, but he also meets Mallory, who is a "goody-two shoes, stuck up, pretty rich girl"
In art class they sit next to each other, and then after a while they start being friends. All Slades' friends leave him, and every one thinks he is weird, being in a relationship with Mallory.
Then Mellory comes to school with a huge bruise over her shoulder, not wanting to talk about it.
SHe comes to school with fresh bruises every week.
One day Mellory has a piano recital in front of the whole school, she stuffs it up and every one laughs.
After its over, Slade is waiting for her out side and her hears a large bang.
More of this kind of think happens, and Slade realizes that Mallory is emo.
He tries to help her, and she stops.
One week after school, Slade gets a call from Mallorys mum at eleven at night. She is crying, saying that Mallory is missing, her window is open, and there is blood everywhere.

It is a very touching, serious and realistic book.
It is a high-school drama, but a good one. I stuffed up in the explanation-but its good :D

Cool, I'll check it out. By high school drama books, I mean the ones where everyone is sleeping around with everyone, and everyone is constantly getting drunk, and that sort of stuff. Ugh, I hate it when people act like all teens are like that.

I didn't like Stargirl the first time I read it, but I liked it the second time I read it.
