Charlotte sighed as she spent yet another christmas at the orphanage. Unwrapping a present she found herself looking at a necklace she pointed out before.

"thank you" she said quietly to the orphanage owner, who grinned back as Charlotte placed the thin chain and heart pendant around her neck.

Mana looked over at Charlotte. For her present, she had gotten a silver pendant that had been inscribed with symbols that she didn't know and you will in fancy lettering. No one knew where it came from. It had just appeared by her bad along with a glass ball from the orphanage. It wasn't really useful, but she liked it.

Charlotte smiled at Mana. "thats pretty" she said.

Mana smiled back. "Thanks. I was just admiring yours." She looked at her lap and sighed, the smile slipping from her face. "I just wish I knew who sent the pendant, and what it means."

Mili was in the public library. She sat down at one of the tables. she paged through the novel.

Charlotte thought for a moment. "Cant you think of anyone who would send it to you?" she asked.

Mana shoke her head and looked up again. "I don't know of any family. I have none. I don't go a lot of places around town that people would get to know me." Mana sighed. "And even if I did know who gave it to me, how would I know what it means?"

Milli closed the book with gentleness. She got off the wooden chair and pushed it under the table. She walked with slow grace towards the check out of books table. She looked at the lady that had ancient hair but still carried some wisdom yet beauty at the same time.

She smiled, showing her rotting teeth,"Hello Mili."

Mili gave a small smile,"Hello ma'am." She passed the novel to the Librarian's hand.

She tapped away on the computer and scanned the book. She handed it back with a cracked smile on her face.


Mili took the book with gentleness again,"Thank you." with that she walked towards the exit of the library.

Mana spoke to Charlotte. "I'm going to the library to see if there is anything on thranslating this and to get a book out. Wanna come?"

Charlotte smiled and nodded at Mana. "Sure I'll come." she said.

Mana walked out of the room with her pendant in her hand.

Megan stared hard at the librarian. Seeing the old lady shift uncomfortably, Megan switched off her gaze and lowered her eyes.

Mili looked around, She really didn't have anywhere to go. So she decided to wander a bit. She clutched the book close to her chest as she entered the heart of the city.

Magn sighed. It's too quiet here,she thought.I need some action, some excitement. She got up and marched out the door to the orphanage, seeking some form of entertainment.. ((pplz this is getting boring why don't we have a fire or something?))

As Mana walked out of the orphanage, she saw smoke. ((lol))

"Charlotte!" Mana cried. "Look! It's smoke! That means fire! Come on!" She started running towards the smoke;

Kevin quickly exited the orphanage, guiding Kalli along. He saw smoke, and frowned. "What's happening?" asked Kalli, eyes wide.

"Let's see," Kevin said grimly, starting to run, Kalli tagging along.

Mana got to the fire. It was in a building that looked like one for a Hospital. "Who would do such a thing?" she whispered to herself. She saw a boy and girl running toward the fire. "Do you know anything about this?" she called to them.

"What?" Kevin asked, flipping his dark-blonde hair out of his eyes. "No, we were checking on what's happening." He frowned, and then a little brown-haired girl ran up, hair long and straight.

"Kev," she asked, "What happened?"

"I don't know," he said, eyebrows furrowing.

"I'll go in and ask." Mana decided. She started toward the smoke.

Mana ran when she too heard the scream. She ran faster, as fast as she could, still clutching the pendent in her hand. She broke into the flaming building, following the sound of the scream.

Kevin turned his attention to Delilah. "Hi," he smiled.

Mana saw Delilah a few feet away heping a child. Where are others? she thought. She continued toward the screaming. She found three young children. She couldn't bring them all. She picked up the two smallest and helped the third walk.

Kalli leaped into the rubble, coming out holding a tiny baby, covered in black soot.

Kevin dug under, rescuing four coughing little children, picking them all up at once. When he came out, he was covered in soot, and his eyes were watering from the smoke. He coughed as he came out, since he had been in there too long from saving the little kids.

Kevin smiled at her, white teeth even whiter against his soot-covered face. "Thanks."

Mana ran over to the others, coughing.

((Giving a hankerchief...? o_O lol))

Kalli handed her a breathing mask. "Found it in the basement, don't ask," she said in response.

Kevin smiled when he got out, pulling the hankerchief off. "I'm Kevin," he said, wiping his hand on his clothes before extending it for a shake.

Kevin shook it firmly. "This is my baby sister, Kalli. She's seven, I'm sixteen. You?"

Mana wondered if she was invisible.

Kalli smirked at Mana. "Ignore Kevin," she mouthed. "I think he likes Delilah."

Kevin nodded, a flicker of disappointment in his eyes for a second, but it was gone as quick as it had come. He smiled at her blush.

Mana looked at Kalli. "Me too." ((i g2g))

Kevin put a tentative arm around her. "Are you okay?" he asked anxiously. "You need more fresh air." He led her outside, hoping the fresh air would help her.

Kevin put his arms around her, giving her a hug. "It'll all turn out okay," he murmured.

Charlotte was coughing on the ground, never before had she seen a fire

"Charlotte!" Mana cried. "Are you okay?"

"i'm fine" Charlotte coughed out.

Charlotte let her help. "Thanks" she said gratefully

Nora drank. she gave the bottle back to Delilah. "Thank you" she said.

Charlotte stood shakily up. "What caused it?" she asked

"are you ok? Sit down" Charlotte said as she pulled Delilah to the ground.

"why dont you take some of your drink?" Charlotte asked, reaching for the bottle.

"oh" Charlotte said, sadly. "Is there anything I can do?" she asked.

Charlotte looked on concerned.

"are you ok?" Charlotte asked again.

Kevin gently patted Delilah's back.

Mana frowned. "How could the drink work on Charlotte but not on you? what is it?"

Charlotte waited for an answer.
