Arcadia Public Library Book Group discussion

This message is primarily for Denice. I picked up Octavia Butler's "Fledgling." It is a sci fi vampire novel. Thanks for the tip.

Hey Everyone,
I was given Octavia Butler's non-vampire sci-fi two book series Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents. I couldn't put them down; the writing just propels you forward. They are apocalyptic lit, about how some people cope and survive. Also they demonstrate why some may turn to cults or religions when life is tough. It can be heavy, but is always though provoking.
