Sandra Degrechie | 14 comments This series is a Vampire Henri and a detective have unique chemistry! Henri lves her very much and goes out at night to fight against werewolves, zombies, etc.I haven't seen it on for a bit hoping they bring it back.Anyone one remember this show or read a book on it?

Patricia (patriciaaltner) The books, which are the bases for this series, were written by Tanya Huff and collectively called the Blood books or simply the Vicki Nelson stories.

In my opinion the producers of Blood Ties (TV series) did a great job. The three main characters - Vicki, Henry (vampire bastard son of Henry VIII), and Mike (cop and ex-lover of Vicki) - were written and acted very true to the books. Of course the show wasn't renewed! Whether Lifetime will continue to air older episodes I'm not sure.
Blood Price (1991) was the first novel in a series of 5 books (I believe). Since that time there have been numerous Vicki Nelson stories in anthologies.

Sandra Degrechie | 14 comments I am going to try and get a hold of the books.Yes i hope they bring it back what a story line the plots are amazing.Never got to see the end.Was hoping Vicki and Henry were going to get together and make a better team. The combination of human and Vampires have been a fantasy throughout the ages. The mystery intrigues the best of us.LeStat himself goes back ancient history he was for real.Feared by many and charming to.He is in any Bible. He wasn't able to be killed off in normal terms.

Melodie (melodieco) I was obviously a very big Blood Ties fan! My avatar is Henry! They left the show with such a cliffhanger and they couldn't even make TV movie to tie up the loose ends. I still won't watch Lifetime because of it. IMHO, Kyle Schmid as Henry was just about the hottest vamp ever! He even trumps Alex Skarsgaard as Eric on True Blood! Congrats on the coming little one, Sandra.

Sandra Degrechie | 14 comments Thank you Melodie! I agree with you they should not leave a series hanging in the air like that i used to check my guide every night to make sure i wouldn't miss an episode.Blood Ties was well orchestrated and the charisma between characters made it most pleasurable to watch.

Julia | 119 comments Patricia,

Thank you for the heads up on Blood Bank. Blood Bank (Victoria Nelson, #6) by Tanya Huff I haven't heard of that one.

You all need to know that beyond the Blood books, Tanya Huff has written "Smoke" books about Henry Fitzroy and Tony Foster set in Vancouver. Here are the covers: Smoke and Shadows (Tony Foster, #1) by Tanya Huff Smoke and Mirrors (Tony Foster, #2) by Tanya Huff Smoke and Ashes (Tony Foster, #3) by Tanya Huff

Liked the tv show, too, but it also makes the Smoke books funnier!

Amber (peachystateofmind) I saw the show using hulu and feel in love with it. I read the books and yes, the show was very true to the books.
The actress did a great job playing Vicki's disability.
Henry was a gorgeous vampire. I loved the acting.
A tv-movie would have done nicely with the loose ends.
