Comfort Reads discussion

Jean Plaidy was my introduction to historical fiction as a teen and I remember loving her books especially the ones featuring Queen Victoria. I definitely want to re-visit her work as an adult to see if she still appeals to me. Thanks for starting a thread for her, I know many people have read and enjoyed her books. I can't remember any titles off the top of my head but I'm sure someone will pitch in with their favourites.

I don't think that Victoria Holt holds up well for rereads (at least she did not for me). I liked her historical romances in high school, but now I cannot stand how formulaic they are (just not my cup of tea anymore)
