Dera sat down near her home tree. she played with the grass, running it between her fingers.

Sarik had just arrived home from a hunt.

Dera called her horse,"Nici."

Sarik called to Dera, "I see you," he said.

Dera looked at him and stood up to go to Nici.

Sarik shrugged and rode back to home tree.

Nici nudged her. She started laughing.

Dera looked back and rode back to the home tree," Lets go back hom Nici."

Sarik dismounted and walked inside.

Dera saw the man that spoke to her. she rode next to him and went ahead towards the water.

Sarik wondered why Dera did not recognize him, he had known her for a long time. For the past year he had been training with the Sea Clan, learning their ways and strengthening his people's bond with them. He had only returned two suns ago, but still, why didn't she know him?
"Dera, it is I, Sarik," he said.

Dera tilted her head, she couldn't recognise the navii

Sarik sighed and walked away.

Sarik made his way to the tree of Songs.

Sarik saw a beautiful Navii pass by.

Sarik made a connection to the tree.

Sarik listened to his ancestors.

Sarik finished and detached himself.

Sarik sat by the base of a tree.

Sarik munched on some plants.

Sarik fell asleep at the base of the tree.

Sarik dreamed of the foreigners as he slept.

Sarik heard a rustling in the bushes. He jumped awake.

Sarik poised himself for whatever would emerge, readying his arrows.

A man stepped out.

Sarik shot the arrow at the man, but it bounced off. The man started talking to him in a strange dialect.

The creature stepped towards Sarik.

The creature shot at Sarik, but he slipped out of the way.

Sarik fit another arrow in the string and advanced on the fallen being.

"Thank you," Sarik whispered, "What should we do with it?"

"Shall we tie it back and take it to home tree?" Sarik asked.

Sarik helped her knot them around the creature.

Sarik carefully got on, not wanting to scare the animal.

Sarik held onto her waist tight.

"We should see what the chief has to say," said Sarik.

"I'll take it," said Sarik, lifting it out of the girl's arms.

Sarik realized she was a Princess. He bowed low to both her and her father.

"It stepped out of the bush and shot at me once. I shot back, but our arrows do not pierce it's armor. Your daughter saved my life," Sarik said.

"Just West of the tree of Songs," said Sarik.

"I saw them twice in my time with the sea people," Sarik said, "but never have they been so aggressive."

Sarik waited quietly as they conversed.

"Who is Tanu?" Sarik asked. Much had changed since he had left.

Dera was sitting in the home tree, preparing food.
