Heather Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder marked by fear and avoidance of public places. The fear of situations in which escape is difficult.

This disorder generally begins in childhood and continues until the advanced age

Heather I also heard that this could be a fear of being with a lot of people. Maybe in a social situation where one feels 'trapped' in a conversation. Is this true?

Heather That was very enlightening. I didn't know there were all those 'fears', but I guess that makes sense.

After my father died, I developed this 'unnatural' fear of public places. I really did have panic attacks, the first one being in an airport. But, after several years of grieving and therapy, I have overcome that.

I think I am kind of pyrophobic, also. I am paranoid of fire. Thank you, Sabiha!
