Swiss Cheeze Melts(created my Morgan, Dapplenose's sister)
Lightly smear butter on a slice of white bread. Then thinly slice scraps of swiss cheese and spread it over the bread. You can also mix in other cheese (like Mexican) if you want. Melt in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. If the cheese is lumpy, smear the melted cheese evenly with a knife before it cools. Salt is optional.
SnowmintsIngredients:
1 tablespoon softened butter
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 mint extract
1 cup powdered sugar
food coloring (for Snowmints, 1 drop blue, 1 drop red, & 2 drops yellow)
Preparation of the Dough:
WASH HANDS. In a bowl, mix with a fork, the butter, corn syrup, salt + mint extract. Gradually mix in sugar. When mixture becomes too tough to stir, kneed with hands on wax paper.
If you just want minty edible play dough, stop here. store in refridgerator.
Preparation of the Snowmints:
bodies-
Seperate roughly 1/5 of dough and set aside. With the remaining dough, make about 12-13 snowmen by putting 2 marble sized balls together per snowman.
decorations-
Separate a marble sized ball from the 1/5 of dough you previously set aside. On the wax paper, mix with a toothpick 1 drop red & 2 drops of yellow food coloring to make orange. Use the toothpick to cary small ammounts of coloring to the marble sized dough mixing it in until a good shade of orange is achieved. Soak up the food coloring with a napkin. (Now here's the hard part) use the orange dough to make carrot noses for the snowmen. WASH YOUR HANDS. with the untouched portion mix in 1 drop of blue food coloring. Mold the blue dough into decorations (some ideas are hats, vests, and earmuffs) for the snowmen. Make eyes out of sprinkles.
Wa la... Smowmints! store in the refridgerator.
