Thrilling and philosophical book Group discussion

It seems like the discussion board has been a little dead lately but I'll give this a shot. I really suggest anyone picking up a copy of 1984 or even Brave New World. Both are excellent novels that can really captivate the mind. Yes they are both cliche high school reads but they are still worth your time.

Catcher in the Rye is a must read in high school, in almost all high schools. But it is still a very good book that will make you think.

I've always considered reading it but for some reason my friends have always tried to deter me from reading it. I know its a classic but I have not got around to reading it.

Its not a classic like Moby Dick or Jane eyre. It is the story of a teenager who is going through pruberty. But he does not want to be a man and he doesnt want to be a child he just wants to stay stuck where he is forever. And he doesnt like people, has to many opinions about everything.
