Mock Caldecott 2026 discussion

Mock Caldecotts are being held all over the country. If you school or city is involved in a Mock Caldecott please post your results here so we can see what the public is voting for.

"Attended a Mock Caldecott workshop in Northeast MA. yesterday. The honor was "Princess Hyacinth" (illus. by Lane Smith) and winner was "Lion and the Mouse." Other "faves" were "Otis," "A Penguin Story" and "Duck! Rabbit!"

I conducted a series of Mock Caldecott Discussion groups with students in the Guilderland Central School District in Guilderland NY. I work in two different elementary schools, so therefore I had two Caldecott Committees for each grade level.

Each grade 1-5 mock Caldecott Committee and each produced their own results. Here is a summation:

Stow Library hosted Mock Caldecott and my daughter is hoping that Circus Ship will win!
